I wonder if the same people who clamor for the shut down of the Catholic Church will be the same ones clamoring for the shut down of the Baptist church. Wonder if they will demand that the Baptist church hold a garage sale of anything of value in their churches? Call for the execution of the perpetrators? Accuse anyone who follows the Baptist denomination of being a "blind sheep" manipulated by a major religion or accuse them of being perverts themselves?

Read that the other day.
I work in the DoD, an organization that says even one sexual assault is too many. And they're right. But thinking that a multi-million member organization will ever neet that standard is madness.
So it comes down to rates of abuse and how they're handled, in my opinion. -

SBC Apologizes for "Failures Within Our Own Denomination" to Protect the Abused

Ladies and gentlemen, after years of working in the school system with abuse children, I guarantee you this is the tip of the iceburg. There will be many, many abused Baptist children with the strength to come forward and hopefully sue these chuches and their protected child molesting pastors into bankruptcy and close their doors for good!

Yes, they are "ABC." "Baptist" is not a denomination.

So, that's one small segment of the Baptist galaxy. Me and mine haven't been a part of it since the late 40s.

# 4 from link: a religious organization whose congregations are united in their adherence to its beliefs and practices
Yes, each local Baptist church (notice small "c") but we are united as a Rope of Sand in our doctrine.
We are under no obligation to any National, State or local Baptist group. -
Forgot to mention that just as a local church can leave such a fellowship -
the National/State/local fellowship can also withdraw fellowship.
Excellent example --- Within our local association - a church had just called a new pastor.
Not too long after - the pastor divorced his wife and married a lady from the church.
The DOM went to see the pastor - and then the church. The pastor refused to resign
and the church refused to boot the pastor.
Well, as stated before - we could not make the church get rid of there pastor.
But the Association then decided to withdraw fellowship from that church.
A couple of years later - the church disbanded. -

Could it be that Southern Baptists are in denial? -

Baptist churches I am familiar with have made the choice to associate with organizations (ABC, SBC, GARB, etc.) primarily for the purpose of missionary programs. It is not practical for a small congregation to undertake such a task. Each church contributes on a regular basis to support the organization and its missionary program.
I would be greatly surprised if any of the member churches would consider themselves to be a member of a denomination.
The organization has no say as to how the member churches run their business or any control over their pastoral staff.
Likewise, I am surprised that the SBC invoked the term "denomination" in there resolution addressing abuse.
Southern Baptist Convention > On Abuse
"WHEREAS, We deplore, apologize, and ask for forgiveness for failures to protect the abused, failures that have occurred in evangelical churches and ministries, including such failures within our own denomination; and" -
church to do a background check on pastors. The only possible exception would be be home missionaries who are with the Home mission board. -
Sexual abuse of children in a church venue (actually ANY venue) is INEXCUSABLE!
Matthew 13
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. -

Two Catholic cardinals say 'homosexuality' is to blame for sexual abuse committed by priests | Daily Mail Online
Is this the defense they took in the confessional? -
I wonder how many of Baptist pastors diddling children while begging the children and threatening to keep silent 'for Jesus sake" are closeted homosexuals with wives and children to cover their phoney ministry. Just how many scum bag Baptist pastors are really hoisting the bible in the pulpit inviting people to come to 'Jeez-us are Baptists hiding and covering for? The numbers keep multipling each day. Baptists cover ups have been going on for years. What plans do Baptists have to purge these phoney clergy from their pulpits. No doubt the media exposing the molesters will be blamed on Catholics 'attempting to deflect their past son's on poor innocent 'bible believing' Baptists pastors. What hypocrisy! -

Although Lord we would like it now - Please protect our wives and little ones.
Please reveal the wolves in sheep's clothing.
