Without knowing the ultimate results of implementing such a plan it is premature to say that the Republicans are "on the wrong side".

And yes, the Democrats can pass any bill that they want without a single Republican vote - so why do they keep complaining about the Republicans not supporting it?

Could it be that they are looking for cover in the form of "bipartisian" blame when the "crows come home to roost" ?

Why should they go along with something in which (hopefully) they, and most Americans, are fundamentally opposed to?

Should they be required to offer an alternative socialized medicine plan, when (hopefully) they don't believe socialized medicine is a viable option?

On this issue, I say "Obstruct away."

They don't care if Americans are against it. They are pompous asses up there on the Beltway. They will get their ears full when they come home for recess but they have to prove they have the power and can wield that power and make all of us slaves to their sacrosanct will. For the life of me, I can't believe what long and illustrious careers at our expense so many of them have had there holding office (decades), how deluded or insane or totally irresponsible the people in those states are who keep electing them over and over and over ad nauseum.

In my lifetime, I can only think of a handful of good laws Congress has passed that benefitted the majority of the American people. The rest of the junk passed either benefitted their lobbyist friends and cronies, family members, their business interests, or countries that hate our guts and still get our money.

Two hundred years ago, the bums wouldn't have been thown out of office for trampling the rights of citizens, the leeches would have been tarred and feathered.

I hear this often. I have mailed thousands of correspondences in my life. I have sent and received hundreds of bill and checks. I have never had mail lost or not received a check, period. I'm almost 60 years; I wouldn't call that bad service.

Thats odd. I have worked for different agencies of the federal government for 36 years, and presently maintain their optical character readers, bar code sorters, and networking on the midnight shift, and see many examples of it every day. That too is a neutral comment and in no way insults you.

I am too almost 60, so give you a gold star.

It is amazing to me that we actually can send correspondence across the country in that big pile of letters, bills, ads, and parcels, and have a reasonable expectation that it will arrive at its intended destination, on time, and for less than 50 cents.

Most American's want reform so when you say American's are against it, you are referring to the minority of American's.

Most laws are made for the minority since they are the ones not getting a fair chance at the American dream. Example are the civil rights laws. Yes, today they appear to be causing reverse discrimination but back int he 60's they allowed an oppressed people to get a chance at the dream.

Also, it is the lobbyist and insurance companies who are fighting against reform. So you would have to be in favor of reform if you don't want to benefit lobbyist and business interest.

200 years ago Thomas Jefferson was receiving strong opposition for the Louisiana purchase. Many in his day thought it was unconstitutional because the US Constitution didn't contain any provisions for acquiring territory and because it raised the deficit by $11 Million. The Federalist went as far as trying to prove the land belonged to Spain not France (reminds you of the birthers, doesn't it). The Federalist also tried to block the purchase via congress but lost by two votes, 59-57.

I brought this up to say I think you are wrong, Jefferson was not tarred and feathered though there were many who probably wanted to do worse to him. However, I like to believe deep inside, American's are a good and fair minded people with an abiding since of integrity. es we have our differences but we settle them in civilized, Christian directed ways.

But yes, there are times I'd like some of my mail to get lost, but it doesn't. My bills always seem to find me, and I cannot remember a piece of mail I sent getting lost.

Furthermore, that "72%" poll you keep posting...there isn't another poll with numbers like that a mile around. How 'bout using some real data? I googled "Americans, healthcare, poll," and found sites like Dallas Morning News, Wall Street Journal, and others actually show your bunch in the minority. Even polls that show a majority favor are nowhere near the mark you posted.

And, since you won't be intellectually honest, I will for you: Pretty much every legitimate poll has the same caveat: when it is brought up about limited doctor choices, longer waits (both are epidemic in government programs...you deny that, you're lying)...OR when it is mentioned about any taxes whatsoever to pay for the plan...support falls to less than four in ten.

Now...were you planning on admitting that, or would that involve getting out of bed with the Democrats to do so?

Do you ever read anything or do you just see a word or two of a paragraph and then in your giddy excitement think that you have found something that is flattering to "the one" and get it on the board as quickly as possible?
