Reversing Bush administration policies, Obama signals that climate change and genetic research will be top priorities of his administration. Finally, science is returning to America. To quote Gerald Ford, 'Our long national nightmare is over!"

Unproven science, in the case of the biggest money grab in history, "global warming".

Genetic research....

Code for creating human life for purposes of destroying it - embryonic stem cell research.

The best science which has been produced in the last half century came about thorough government funding of the space projects. As the result of the necessity to solve problems and produce new equipment, many things affecting our everyday life and technology and medicine have been spawned from the existance of this 'out of the world' program of the past. The science of the space program produce many new developments initially to meet specific needs in the program.... but with information shared with the private sector...... not so overly protected by patents..... that it allowed expansion into areas which have helped us all.

The scariest science which is now being produced is the genetic modification of our food crops which gives the patent and control for possessing and implimenting food production in the hands of those few corporations who own the patents, the supply of seeds, and determines who can produce food and who cannot. Funding 'science' for the military research and development does not prevent new things and materials from being developed........ but it places the research, science, and outcomes under 'classified' creations which prevents the utilization of technology and development by civilian industry. The science of global warming is patently flawed....... but funding this will insure that those who want recognition and want to keep jobs in this field will design their experimental models to insure that they get the politically and financially correct outcome.

Science doesn't belong in the hands of government or the military: It belongs in the laboratories of university campuses, the inspiration of scientific scholarship, the research and development programs of industry, medicine, space, technology....such as transportation, communication, etc.

Nothing can be proven until it is researched. I am sure there were people laughing at the Wright brothers trying to build a flying machine. "Those crazy brothers, spending all that money and they ain't gonna fly. If God meant man to fly he-d a given us wings."

Where do you think GPS came from? It was government funded.

Where do you believe e-mail technology came from? It came from government funding.

Only off topic in responding to your off topic comment. You have an new tactic. Anything you do not agree with is off topic.

What is evidence to one is not accepted by another. Some will never accept any evidence, no matter how compelling.

Got some examples?

Never mind. I know you don't.

You're just shooting from the hip just as you did with you off topic cutesy remark.

Obama has appointed more than one global warming advocate. Who are his appointees that are advocates for GPS and email, since you brought it up.

Some "christians" I'm sure will rejoice everytime God's word is ignored. Praise God for his followers that trust him over their own understanding, obey his word, and look forward to his return.

I was replying to your comment that research costs money, implying that it should not be spent because it will be on a project you do not believe in exploring. But any development or advancement comes about through the expenditure of money on research and development. Thus, to find out if there is anything that can be done about global warming, money will have to be spent, just as it was for the two technologies I mentioned. Of course, both started out as research project for the military, but have been beneficial for almost everyone. Same is true for the Internet. It began at DARPA when the hooked 4 computers together to see if they could get them to "talk" to each other ... and look at what has grown out of that experiment ... which cost money.

Cheers.

You need to read more carefully.

My comment was not about the cost of "research" concerning global warming, but about using the scam called "global warming" to fleece people and nations of their money under the guise of doing something about it, when no one has ever proven it even exists.

Obama will be stealing lots of our money to further the cause of this thouroughly unproven, even discredited phony science. He has appointed people that intend to help him do just that.
