Come on now! What is the truth? I heard he was a model and posed in Cosmo' back years ago....... Surely he had a 'cover'??????????????? Besides, that was years ago. What is more present concern is what are his principles today and how will they affect and control his decisions...... or is he a candiddate that can be bought with power, sex, drugs, or money...... the vices of most people in politics.

    I noted that elsewhere:

First, it was "Cosmopolitan", which doesn't exactly fit the definition of "risque mag". Second, the photo's weren't nudes, they were semi-nude (there was no graphic nudity). Third, it was almost 30 years ago. Fourth, if I looked as good as he did 30 years ago, I probably would have met my wife a lot sooner.

So it is your position that no one should be glad that the government will not most likely be able to take over health care? Subvert our constitution? And use health care to control our lives any way they see fit?

Then don't. But don't berate those who believe he was a good choice for the seat available, for reasons other than the abortion issue.

It doesn't always have to be all or nothing in terms of support. I have already stated that I am glad that he won because it would slow down the President's radical agenda.

If his kind of republican were to win in every state, would we be happy? Would we have moved this country closer to what all of us want to see? I don't think so. Personally, I think this will be the moderate republican's game plan for moving the Republican party away from a committment to the pro-life and pro-marriage position.

But there are a list of key items for many like myself that it is all or nothing. But just because I am excited and would parrot Bro. Curtis's words does not mean I support him. Not sure it means that for him either.

And that is a reason to be glad as it was of the most extreme nature.

Not sure there would be any other kind out of Mass. But I would not read into how every other candidate will be because of Mass. Having said that I have lost hope for the Repubs. There are and most likely will be some good candidates among them but the party as a whole is shot.

I just asked a question - is a pro-abortion, pro-gay civil union, former nude model acceptable to the American Religious Right?

I'll let you in on my reasoning in asking this question. When I got up this morning right after the results came in (about midnight EST) my Facebook was jam packed with friends from the 'religious right' amening, hallalujahing, and praising the Lord for His great victory in seeing this man elected. I have found my personal experience that what is reflected there is basically a general idea of how that crowd thinks.

I would have to question that seeing another baby killer elected is a victory for God's people.

I suspect that people rejoiced before they knew the problems with this man. My thought is that we need to be careful mixing what we may perceive as political victories with true spiritual blessings.

The lesser of two evils is still evil. With that said, we will have t wait and see whether his election will actuallt make any difference or not.

And to answer your question, Roger, no... it is not acceptable. Even if he is many shades less of those things than was Kennedy or whats-her-face, wrong is still worng.

Here's the key "right" that hopefully will come of it: The pending health care legislation will most likely not be enacted. That is reason to be happy! God can, has, and does use evil men to accomplish His purposes. We should, for the moment, rejoice that this is, perhaps and hopefully, what has happened. We won something! Let's be happy about it! We should also pray that God will provide the people better choices of Godly men to select as the leaders for our nation. We should also pray that He will restrain the evil tendencies of all men including, where it fits, the one just elected and especially with respect to the gross evils of abortion and homosexuality. No where in any of this need we, or do we, condone anything evil that this Republican candidate might support if he does at all. We simply see it as a victory against the fraud that was imminent had the Democrat candidate won. We can be on the watch for what he does but, for now, let's give thanks at least for what did not happen. Imagine how sickening it could have been had the other candidate won.

Christians have a habit of giving God the credit when things good come to us. God being sovereign deserves it. If you don't like it. Tough

Wow. Sour grapes abound, eh ?

First of all, I never called anyone a baby-killer. Second, he never posed completely nude. We have all seen more of Mark spitz than we have Scott Brown.. Third, celebrate ? Yer darn-tootin'!!!! This is death to the marxist hostile takeover of my beloved country. This is death to health care reform, cap & trade, illegal immigration amnesty, and regulatory plans, as they all stand right now.

Join with me for a day of thanks, and then tomorrow, we hold Senator Brown's feet to the fire.

Added....anytime we see Kieth Olbermoron's face stretched as long as it was last nite, it is reason to be a little gracious. And Kieth seems to think Brown IS anti abortion, and a supporter of traditional marriage.....

"In short, in Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees. In any other time in our history, this man would have been laughed off the stage as an unqualified and a disaster in the making by the most conservative of conservatives. Instead, the commonwealth of Massachusetts is close to sending this bad joke to the Senate of the United States."

    The afforementioned K.O.

I concur with Bro. Curtis's last post in its entirety.

BTW, Scott Brown opposes federal funding for abortion, supports parental consent rules for minors, supports the ban on partial-birth abortion, and supports a mandates 24 hour waiting period before having an elective abortion. While not 100% anti-abortion, he opposes most elective abortions, but favors keeping abortion legal in cases of rape, incest, and endangerment of the mother. This is a "non-prolife" official I can live with.

As far as bring "pro-gay" he expressly opposes gay marriage, but is not against civil unions. I'd hardly call this position "pro gay".

I understand and appreciate the point you are trying to make. I think things like this happen when Christians get so consumed with the politics of this world. We need to always remember where our true citizenship resides.
