A new seed bank has been storing seeds from about a hundred different countries. Seeds include varieties of carrots, beans, grains, and all can be perfectly preserved for about 20,000 years, due mostly to the location of the bank in a frozen island devoid of almost everything else. I think it's a wonderful idea, as long as it remains a world storage system, and not taken over by some hostile force in an attempt to control the world's produce production. It can remain operational even without human workers, and can withstand earthquakes, nuclear war, global warming trends, etc. I wonder if just anyone can contribute seeds to this bank?
