Wow, anytime I need a reminder why so many in my generation are fleeing the church I know I can count on this place to provide it. Man you'd think in death we could at least be encouraging or dignified.

The man is gone. Regardless of what you think he was someone's son, husband, father, and grandfather. We owe him (and others) the dignity of respect for his life.

What you said isn't true. Eye-witness accounts say Kennedy WAS drunk that night. He DID drive his car off the bridge with her in it. He DID leave the scene. He DID NOT call authorities until late the next morning. Your pardon of the man is ridiculous.

Kennedy supported partial birth abortion. He supported delivering a child all but the head and then jamming a pair of scissors into the base of the skull so the brains could be vacumed out. No mercy, compassion, or quarter given for children by him, ever. But he is answering for it now.

I'm not saying he wasn't ridilous, I'm saying it's not necessary to inflate Kopechne's death in order to find fault wiith Kennedy.
Are you suggesting that if a person isn't staunch pro-life, then they're not saved? Then isn't based on faith alone?

It's sad to look back at the Kennedy family's history.

Does anyone remember how Joe, Sr. got to be so rich in the first place?

As much as I would like to, you know as well as I do that no senator or congressman will support term limits. Having term limits means that there would be no more "monopolies" for Republicans or Democrats. Or at the very least it would shake things up in the Senate & the House more often. In order for this to happen, people need to stay on the president to push this.

I said earlier that I have no particular feeling regarding the death of Kennedy. I do sympathize with his family in their bereavement.

I owe him no respect for his life any more than he respected the life of unborn children and that contrary to the teaching of his religion. Kennedy was an abortionist and just as guilty as those who preformed the slaughter of the unborn baby. Unlike most of us he was in a position to do something about the slaughter of the unborn yet he did nothing except oppose any attempt to limit this Holocaust.

He supported the slaughter of as many people as Hitler and Stalin combined. Am I supposed to have respect for their life.

May others show you more mercy, concern, understanding, sympathy at your passing than you show here. I see nothing of Christ in your posts in this thread.

I wonder how these folks accusing Senator Kennedy of murder feel about Laura Welch (Bush) killing her old boyfriend in a car accident?

Did she leave the scene ?

I never accused him of murder. But one handled their accident, the other had it handled for them. There is a huge difference between the two.

Back to Ted. Wheres the list I asked for ?

I don't recall anyone accusing Kenendy of "murder".

Driving off the bridge was no doubt an accident.

Walking off - past light houses - back to his hotel without attempting to get any help for her was not an accident.

Mary Jo could have been alive for some time after the car submerged. It is very possible that she could have been saved from the underwater car if Kennedy had sought help.

    He didn't.

That is not compassion or virtue.

Despite some events in history, Senator Kennedy, gave his life to serving his country, helping the under-privileged and other concerns in society. I don't know about his politics, or the details of his personal life, but I do know about his contributions to American society.

Let God judge those other things.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Accidents are accidents, murder is murder! Kennedy allowed that young woman to die. Why I don't know. An autopsy may have revealed the reason.

I said in my initial post that I was not going to be a hypocrite. That still stands regardless of the pious posts of some. I have said that I do sympathize with his family in their bereavement. I sincerely mean that.

I had no respect for Kennedy in life. There is no reason to respect him in his death. He was an advocate for the slaughter of the unborn when he could have exerted his influence among the liberal/left to reverse this slaughter. He was an advocate of disarmament during the cold war. How far he was willing to go in appeasing the Soviet Union I do not know but it was certain that he espoused socialist positions. Positions which I believe were unconstitutional [such as socialized medicine] and which I believe were destructive of this Republic.
