I suppose that is possible - but I have been in their communion services numerous times and they knew I was Seventh-day Adventist.

It is up to the individual church as to their stand on open, close, or closed -

Many are open. Some are close. Few are closed.
This practice is based largely on the teachings regarding universal church and ecumenism, which are pivotal doctrinal issues.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Open communion such as I have seen among Southern Baptists, Seventh-day Adventists and many Baptist-run community churches is not 'ecumenism' until they change their doctrines to some generic bland form... just fellowshipping with other Christians is not of itself what is meant by the term.

This is a broad subject to be covered in a few terms. Words/terms like: New Testament Church, church authority, apostasy, universal church, infant baptism, baptismal regeneration, closed communion, reformation, church perpetuity should be considered to understand ecumenism. Where shall we start?
The size of a religious group has nothing to do with its verity.

The Sabbath of the New Covenant is to rest 24/7 in the finished work of Jesus Christ,
10 for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.
11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.

Just shows that the churches teaching the real Gospel will be smaller in number, as they teach what scriptures really teach on this matter! -

William Miller (February 15, 1782 – December 20, 1849), an American Baptist preacher, is credited with beginning the mid-19th century North American religious movement known as the Millerites. After his prophecies of the Second Coming did not occur as expected in the 1840s, new heirs of his message emerged, including the Advent Christians (1860) and the Seventh-day Adventists(1863). Later movements found inspiration in Miller's emphasis on Bible prophecy; the Bahá'í Faith holds that his predictions of 1844 events were accurate.

You are all baptists, you just don't know it.
You wouldn't want a true "general conference" of all Christians on earth. Because you would get 1.2 billion votes telling you that you are dead wrong.
When you can't win that vote.....you split and make another conference and committee. And we keep splitting and leaving till you got 1000s of little churches one verse meaning this and another with a verse meaning that. -
1. Accept the Bible - 66 books as the Word of God.
2. Saved by grace through faith.
3. Believer's Baptism
4. Put the word "Baptist" in the name of your church.
At that point it became clear that we are within that loose definition except for not placing the word "Baptist" in our name.
However we have an organized central form of administration similar to methodists -- such that all tithes and policies filter through one administrative group - unlike Baptist churches.
The Catholic church has spawned more division than almost any other group known to mankind. -
From an official SDA page:
THE EXPERIENCE OF SALVATION
The Holy Spirit reveals our need for Jesus and, when we accept God’s grace and salvation, recreates us. The Spirit builds our faith and helps us leave our broken lives behind. -
"The Catholic church has spawned more division than almost any other group known to mankind"
Divide what?
Luke 11
17But He knew their thoughts and said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls. 18“If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? -
For those who worship on Sunday know God still has the Sabbath will be taking the Marl of the Beast as per Ellen White! -

Some facts missing in the current foray: True Baptists are not protestant. They were never part of Rome. Baptists are not a denomination. Each church is a separate, viable, sovereign entity answerable only to Jesus, the true Vicar. Ecumenism is rampant on this thread--on this website.
The daughters are going back to their mother--it is part of the last days.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

But in regards to Baptists having similar beliefs - we ARE a denomination. -

"Denomination" or "denomination" is a term coined by the Roman Church Magisterate to identify those religious groups which have separated themselves from Rome, particularly since the days of Martin Luther and others who tried to reform Rome. (Sorry, I cannot believe there could be a sentence that long.)
True Baptists, and others, aka, New Testament Churches, do not fall into this definition. They are not Protestants, Reformed Protestants nor Reformed Catholics. True Baptists are not in that polluted stream, never have been, never will be.
This is a pivotal point in True Baptist heritage. Peace.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
