When I ran for Public Utility District commissioner the subject of religion was never mentioned.

If they do they should be prepared to have their lives examined.
That said I don't make religious statements a litmus test for my vote. It does seem, however, to hurt candidates more than it helps them in my economy. -
Why would they? Most "Christians" will judge them anyway. It's never good enough.
If they say they are Muslim, out the door.
If they say they are Christian, well what brand?
If they say Baptist, Calvin or non?
Whatever they say, it will be picked apart to the tiniest detail, and it's always faulty. -

If a person of faith so states - than he must live up to a higher standard - lest he be called a hypocrite.
I do like what Glenn Beck says - we need to vote for character. (as well as political platform - preferable both)
