Okay - "No!" If you need an answer to that question, you should not be asking!

Gotcha, so since you won't answer I will continue to assume that you believe these professions can't make a living unless they lie.

Glad I never had to deal with you in a professional capacity. I hate having to work with liars.

Well, name one politician that upholds this standard. No, I do not think one has to lie at a job. However, on the truth side, some things are better left unsaid. For example, if the church is having a knock down drag out over the color of carpet, the I as an individual will say nothing because the debate does not warrant comment. Also, many times harsh truth is used to hurt someone's feelings. A gossip probably is telling the truth, but gossip has no place in the church or in heaven. If I am ever on a job and get in a fix, when confronted, I might say something like "lets talk about it later" or "give me time to recall what happened."

At a church fellowship if a sweet little old lady who has been in the church for years serving the Lord comes up to me and ask me if I liked her casserole I am going to tell her, "It's the best I ever had" even if it was horrible tasting. I'd be a fool to say to her, "It really wasn't that good." Talk about committing pastoral suicide. Technically, that would be a lie but I am ok with it.

You could say something like "It was remarkable!".

Just don't make any remarks after you say so.

Actually though when you consider it is a labor of love and fellowship it is something to be cherished no matter how it tastes.

    Possibly.....

If you worked in Military Counter-Intelligence then deception would be your modus operandi. Likewise if you were a detective you might bluff a criminal into confessing. So there is a little leeway for lying in some professions that I believe a Christian could adhere too. But mainly know , if you are required to lie then it's a definite no.
