Oh Lord....what ever happened to being tactful? LOL
My states Governor, Chris Christie lambasted this women for posing this question. Christies response was quite direct & blunt, to say the least. I think he needs a Dale Carnegie course.
From my limited experience in the state and from what I hear from a friend that lives there, that's just typical in your face New Jersey talk. BTW, Christie answered the question.
Ive lived in New Jersey for over 50 years, & I can tell you his DELIVERY was tactless & crude. There are gentler ways to handle the question. Could you imagine him as your president?
I understand that half the public school teachers in Seattle send their kids to private schools. Seattle has the 2nd fewest children per capita after San Francisco and half of them are not in the Public school system. The Civil Rights Act of '64 trashed most every city school system.
Certainly they failed. Fat boy here lives in Mendam NJ ....one of the most prestigious & elite places in the country so he isnt worried about his children's edu levels. The town is also known for St. Josephs Catholic Church & School where many children were accosted by predatory priests (the price you pay for a Catholic education)....I'm sure they are still stories on the INTERNET somewhere. But his wife makes 400K per yr on Wall Street so he will send his kid to DelBarton, another snob elite Catholic private school where he can use state funded helicopters to drag his obese fat butt to baseball games to look like a hero to the kids. But that of course was probably none of the tax payers (estimated costs for helicopter rides = $25K) business either.
Yea & alienated a segment of the voter population.
Brilliant! Guess its not an election year.:tongue3: My point is he could have said it in a way that wasnt so abrupt. Instead he went in like a bull in a china shop .... not the wisest course of action to take as a career politician. Like I said, send him to a Dale Carnegie course.
EWF, the response you gave is totally uncalled for.
Allow me to quote you from post #3 "There are gentler ways to handle this point. Could you imagine him (EW&F)
as your moderator? "

Your response has left me with no choice but to loose all respect for your opinions :tear:

PS - Just so we have the whole story, how much money was reimbursed to the State of New Jersey?
If you were a politician (which you are in a sense on here) you'd be just as tactless as he. Therefore, people would be saying the same thing about you.
Position, either politician, or whatever it is you do, doesn't matter because the truth is clear: You're tactless. :love2:
What you said to that pastor? It was shallow, unnecessary, and ridiculous.
He could have made the same statements without saying "It's none of your business," and it would have come across much better.
Public servants are asked questions about their personal choices.
Gov. Christie doesn't really have the luxury of being exempt from these conversations.
In all fairness Steve he was the NJ Federal Prosecutor prior to being Governor. I agree though, he needs to work out the ruff edges & quit operating like a pitt bull. NW New Jersey is his strong hold because we are Conservative & Republican & we put him in office. However he is making numerous rookie mistakes which are beginning to hurt him. If he keeps it up....... enough said.
