This story happened in Colorado.
Once again, misleading headline. The child is not being expelled, but rather will not be allowed to enroll next year in a private school.
Should this child be expelled from school?

You know what always amazes me about these situations - why would the parents want their kid in a place that is going to directly teach against their lifestyle? Seems like they'd want to avoid the ongoing conflict that has to occur. But it happens . . .

I realize the usual suspects are going to accuse me of supporting homosexuality, but I don't believe a child should be punished for the sins of their parents.

While I agree with JFD for a change, I think the real issue is that this is a private school and as such has the right to require anything it wishes as enrollment criterea.
I do question, however, how the child became enrolled in the first place? -
No problem with it. It is sad that the kid gets hurt in all this, but unfortunately poor choices on the part of parents affect their children.
If the kid stays, situations will arise when the kid is talking about having two moms, there is a program or something at the school and their "alternative" lifestyle is exposed. The school is correct in making sure this situations do not take place. -
As a private school, they can enroll or refuse to enroll anyone they please.

If one didn't know the agenda of the Leftists, one would wonder why this story was even deemed newsworthy.

Hello Everyone,
Given the source of the story...The Huffington Post,it's no wonder why it's "newsworthy". It pushes the acceptance of homosexuality/lesbianism by presenting a sympathetic story.
And now,a tough question for those whose churches have schools...Would you accept him and in doing so give a tacit approval to his mother and her lover ?
If so,that's how it'll be perceived by the unsaved world despite arguements to the contrary... -
If you are involved in a Christian School - would you allow such a child to be enrolled in your school? -
Why should the child be punished for the parents' sin?
-
The "parents" made a life style choice. It is that choice that is punishing the child. Unfortunately the kid is going to get hurt in this. That's the exact reason that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to have children. -
It is the school's right as a privately owned school to stop anyone they want from enrolling, but it's a stupid thing to do considering it is the parents committing the perceived "indiscretion". I feel bad for the kid for having to go through this prejudice, but at the same time I'm glad he is out of the Catholic school, for his sake. -
If the school is getting tax breaks as a non-profit? If so then it should not discriminate on the basis of his parent's legal activities.
-
-
Not responsive. It could be a tax paying private school or a tax avoiding private school.
-
I'm sorry - could you say that a little louder?
I'm having trouble hearing you.
"NOTHING" you say?
That's what I thought. -
I know that most private schools file as non-profits. "For profit" private schools are a small minority.

Same question.
What do you actually know about the tax regulations concerning private schools - profit or non-profit? -
Stop blowing smoke.
