Well to start with, he would work to get rid of or at least neutralize Obamacare (and yes, I know about Romneycare, but he is firmly against such legislation at the national level, and has promised to provide exemptions for all 50 states if necessary). He would reverse the kind of rulings that the Obama administration is issuing that try to force Catholic hospitals to provide abortions. Those 2 things alone should be sufficient for you. If you want more, do some research yourself. Or just pay more attention. ;)
Governor Romney has proven himself to be inconsistent on many issues. He seems to say what people want to hear, like any other politician.
What does his record show? His track record shows that he does favour public health and his track record shows that he is hesitant to try and change existing abortion policies. He still believes that is acceptable in some cases to kill innocent children.
Since it would be a change from a president who has effectively declared war on the pre-born, it's at least an improvement. Which I believe was what you asked about.
Fair enough. He doesn't support the murder of as many innocent children, but he still believes it is okay to kill kids. At least that is what he is saying now.
He would be an improvement regarding energy policy.
BHO said early on in his term:
“Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”
“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them.” -
Romney supports increased energy production and oil drilling in the US.
In his latest SOTU address the president tried to claim that : "Over the last three years, we've opened millions of new acres for oil and gas exploration"...But oil and gas leases have continued to fall under the current administration.
Also on energy policy, this administration rejected the Keystone oil pipeline, claiming there was not enough time to study it, even though DOE had studied for three years. Romney commented that this was "as shocking as it is revealing".
Or for that matter how would R.P. reverse this trend! But we know for sure it won't be improved by sinking billions into Green projects that go bankrupt.
"Having built a small business into a big one, I can tell you that today the impediments that the government imposes are impossible to deal with. Home Depot would never have succeeded if we'd tried to start it today. Every day you see rules and regulations from a group of Washington bureaucrats who know nothing about running a business. And I mean every day. It's become stifling.
If you're a small businessman, the only way to deal with it is to work harder, put in more hours, and let people go. When you consider that something like 70% of the American people work for small businesses, you are talking about a big economic impact."
"He [Obama]has never really worked a day outside the political or legal area. He doesn't know how to make payroll, he doesn't understand the problems businesses face. I would try to explain that the plight of the busi nessman is very reactive to Washington. As Washington piles on regulations and mandates, the impact is tremendous. I don't think he's a bad guy. I just think he has no knowledge of this."
1 - Romney says he would support support killing fewer children than Obama
2 - Romney says he would reverse the trend on leased fuel producing land
3 - Romney is more knowledgeable on business
So far only #3 has any real evidence to support it
He is not an avowed Marxist.
He ACTUALLY loves America and will work to serve his country instead of giving away the store to our enemies for the sake of a false (anti-Christ style) peace.
He is a proven capitalist.
He is also about mid-point on the continuum between radical leftist (Obama) and true conservative (perhaps Santorum, or Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, etc.).
I'll take a mid-point moderate who loves America and who is not afraid to let business and individuals make money any day before an avowed hard-leftist Marxist who sides with America's enemies over our own national sovereignty.
