Do you believe that the universe was created in a literal six days? Or do you adhere to the day age theory, the gap theory, or something else.
I believe that it was created in a literal six days and that the universe is less than ten thousand years old.

A literal six days is what you get when you actually look at the science data, too. That ended up being my husband's surprise conclusion (he started out an old-ager) when he studied the speed of light and other atomic "constants". For those who are interested in his work and conclusions, a good deal of it can be found here:

I am a theistic evolutionist. Young Earth Creationism may be correct, but I don't believe an honest reading of the bible supports it. I know most of North American Christianity disagrees with me.
The hidden Baptist Board : Science Forum and the following thread has some good discussions on this topic.
The New Testament and Genesis 1-11
Can the universe be accounted for without a creator?

Correct you are, Webdog! -
Go ahead and view any spiral galaxy. Whatever you think about the formation of the spirals, they imply the galaxy has had enough time to rotate fully.
The rotation time is measured in hundreds of millions of years.
Or go and count the annual layers of ice laid down in Greenland. They count back well over 200,000 years.
Or go and count the annual layers of ice laid down in Antarctica. They count back well over 400,000 years and - get this - the variations measured in the air and other inclusions match between the two! -
The Bible says 12 times that God stretched out the heavens. Past tense completed. That means very quickly.
Put your hands in a tub full of water. Put your open hads, palms together, in the middle and then pull them apart very quickly. You will see whirlpools form VERY quickly.
Put some jello in some cold water and stir for a couple of seconds and then watch it. You will see 'spiral galaxies' form.
Very quickly.
Things slow down later, Paul. They started rather speedily.
And, AGAIN, the layers in the ice sheets are layers we interpret as annual. However the waves of storms which would have followed the division of the continents in Peleg's time were more than enough to account for those layerings in just a hundred or so years.
God knows what He is talking about. He tells us six days. And although a number of interpretations of the data contradict that, the data itself does not. -
Six days and around 6,000 years. Just out of curiosity, why do even most young earthers attribute 10,000 years when a plain reading of the scriptures seems to indicate more like 6,000 years?

Theistic evolution. God made and sustains everything, including the natural processes science can examine.
