You mean the report where not one of the interrogators were actually interviewed.

Waterboarding sounds like entry-level stuff.
BTW, the article contains the Republican response, and it is newsworthy. -
How can anyone defend use of torture, particularly a follower of Jesus.
The New Revised Standard Version of the Bible
Matthew 5:43
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:45 so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. Matthew 5:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? Matthew 5:47 And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Matthew 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Luke 6
27“But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. 29If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. 30Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. 31Do to others as you would have them do to you.
32“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. 35But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. 36Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. -

I will let go the point that defense has to be violent, but how is chaining someone to the floor, allowing them to freezing cold defensible in any way whatsoever?

I think it's also newsworthy to note, that as of last year, rendition continued under team zero. With that, and Pelosi's and Rockerfeller's fore-knowledge, the democrats seem to be playing with fire.

What is really bad is the statistic that 26 out of 113 probably didn't even have anything. That is not a very good success rate. The problem with the Middle East is that there really is no direct alphabetic translation to English for our interpreters in the field. Our interpreters end up having to translate things phonetically. This is usually fine in daily conversation but our intelligence cell had one to many cases of getting the wrong name due to a missed translation. We all to often would raid the house of the wrong guy. It's probably an underlying reason why it took so long to get Bin Laden. Imagine trying to weave together this intricate puzzle without realizing that some of the pieces belong to another puzzle. The phonetic translation and lack of a paper trail (hard or digital) makes intelligence a brain racking nightmare over there. -

Those who defend "Verschärfte Vernehmung" miss the most important point in all of this. The state already claims the authority to arrest them without charges, keep them locked up indefinitely or if it so chooses to torture and execute them. For being "terrorists". -
