This thread is going downhill fast. Take care, John. I am not interested in trading barbs.

My point was the Disciple Jesus Loved was still here after 70AD.

I believe he died around AD 64. Based on statements from Pappius another author that I have trouble finding just now.

What is the evidence against the Revelation being written some time in the 1st century mid 90's.

Are you just going to leave us with a because you say so? Or will give us all a step by step explanation? And answer questions.

By that I'm guessing you hold to an early date. I hold to a late date. The arguments have been written about ad nauseum.

Yes. And there are plenty of links for both an early pre 70AD and the 95-96AD. There is the internal evidence of Scripture. Merely throwing claims back and forth we will keep our views as is.

Every book in the Bible was written before AD 70.

First of all you quote a snippet out of context, from my response to someone else. I will gladly discuss anything with you, 37818, but lets keep these threads straight. If you have a question for me I will answer. Fair enough?

For one John describes the Temple as still standing.

BTW, the belief that date of Revelation was written pre- AD 70 used to be the majority view at one time. BTW, although I do not agree with his eschatology I think that Kenneth Gentry's 'Before Jerusalem Fell" is a very worthwhile book to read.

Paul was raptured before 70AD. This is an ongoing process, not just a one time event. At least it is for all those who separates the rapture from the Second Coming. No more rapture after the Second Coming that is for sure.

I've read several places that both Preterism and Dispensationalism were influenced by the Jesuits to deceive Protestants into thinking the Antichrist cannot be the Papacy but instead either past or yet future. That they are of recent invention from the 1800s? including the "rapture"?
