So far in Russian history, there have been two Tsar Vladimirs. Mr. Putin, I believe sees himself as the third one.
Many here have called him a Communist. He is not. A better take is he is a Russian Nationalist who believes in autocratic rule from the Moscow Kremlin. He does not want to reassemble the USSR. He wants to reassemble the Russian Empire. Yes, he has abandoned the militant atheism of the CPUSSR. But he has replaced that with an adherence to the Russian Orthodox Church, Turning Russia into a sacralist state on the lines of RCC dominated Spain or Italy.

As opposed to the Anti God Democratic party, Putin is an improvement. He seeks to create a strong state church and the Democrats seek to destroy the church in the United States. I'll take Putin over Joe, Chuck, and Nancy.

I would admit that the Dem are not exactly Pro-Christianity --but I would not call them Anti-God.
So what has Putin done to make Russia a strong State church?

Currently the Dems -are in 2/3 control of this country -(ie POTUS - and Congress) as well as 15 states or Commonwealths 2021 Map: Republicans to Have Full Control of 23 States, Democrats 15 - Americans for Tax Reform

So - if you think this country is that bad - and you say that you would take Putin over Joe, Chuck and Nancy - then I seriously am asking you why do you not pack up and move to Russia?

Compare the church in Russia pre Putin to the church in Russia today. There is your answer.

As to why I don't move; I have faith that Real Republicans will take control before Dems destroy the nation.

Sasse is walking the RIno line on this one. Putin is far less dangerous to the world than the true Communists who run the Democrat Party.
The Covid scare has ended so now they back to Russia, Russia, Russia.

Putin used the church in the same way Trump did, as a tool to get votes from gullible so-called christians.

I won't quibble about it. Jesus and nothing else is at the heart of the Christian gospel. Combining it with anything else is a false gospel. That includes money, power, influence and POLITICS.

Baptists should oppose any efforts to create state churches, especially "strong" ones, since that means they would be a earthly kingdom usurping the authority of Jesus, rather than an expression of the Kingdom of God.

Twisting my words again. Jesus told us to pay our taxes and be respectful of our worldly leaders UNTIL they did something that was against out faith. Then we should speak out against it but be prepared to go to jail. That's why mi'm not on the Trump Train.

That phrase would seem to infer that anyone who voted for Trump and claims to be a Christian is actually a so-called christian (lower case "c" intentional), i.e. an unbeliever. I doubt that was FTW's intent, but words have meaning.

I would never make a blanket statement about a group's faith. Of course most of those here do make that statement about Democrats. What I would say is if anyone make anything (money, power, politics, etc.) an overriding objective rather than following Jesus I don't consider them to be authentic Christians. If you don't accept or even hate other Christians because they don't accept Trump as an effective, moral leader and choice for president you fall into this category. If being a Trump supporter inhibits or prevents your sharing the gospel with people who don't accept him you also fall into this category (christians in name only).
