Those that deny slavery was the root cause of the civil war, or that the slavery practiced in the South is condemned in scripture are springs without water.

It wasnt that you couldn't own a servant, but how you acquired him, that was forbidden.

Exo 21:16
16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

 

So that verse seems to be saying you can't kidnap people, the punishment is the same whether they are sold, or not. But at least now we are getting somewhere.

Were we sold slaves ? Or did we capture them ourselves ?

One personal attack after another by TND. To support a position by using the logical fallacy of personal attack is the behavior of those pushing falsehood.

Now lets see, slavery was the root cause of the civil war. Each time this is denied, I repeat it. So both sides are "johnny one notes" but only one side uses it to disparage the other.

Has anything been offered to question that slavery was the root cause of the civil war? Nope. For example, folks fighting because of a federal versus national mindset, were motivated by the state secession over slavery.

EWF advocates the slavery of enlisted men, having to do whatever their leaders tell them. You could make him do your bidding. So unchristian it is pathetic. Some of these folks think lording it over someone is something to covet. No wonder they do not seem to see that the slavery practiced in the south was intolerable.

Absolutely no links have been posted that demonstrate the civil was was not caused by slavery. The succession statements clearly indicate the reason for secession was the issue of slavery, specifically the preservation of the right of the state to allow slavery.

I will defend truth and those who died to end slavery and the bully boy tactics of those pushing falsehood will not make me do pushups.

And lets review the false charges:

1) He called us racists. No quote. I did say your denial that slavery caused the civil war was a racist myth.

2) He called us "slavers." No quote. I did say it was wrong to defend the slavery practiced in the south.

3) He impugned my (TND) military background. No quote. I did say enlisted men were like slaves, having to do whatever their leaders demanded. Impugning the military class system (officers versus enlisted) hardly impugns anyone's military service.

4) Next we get the old putting words in my mouth nonsense, i.e. He would say I am cruel. No quote. I did say anyone who practiced the slavery of the south was cruel. In fact guilty of crime against humanity.

5) And of course I said the Southern leaders who took us into war rang among the most evil leaders in American history. Apparently that stepped on a lot of toes. :)
