I realize that Obama had a metaphorical red line in the sand, and it appears that Assad has crossed the line.

Still, do we need to get involved? We are just winding down a decade long war in Afghanistan, and sending weapons means boots on the ground to train those using the weapons [code name for having a hand in planning strategy the to defeat Assad].

Like with past involvements, our weapons and training will for sure end up in the hands of a group of people who will more than likely be a sworn enemy of the US in the coming years.

What do we do? Better yet, let's make you President and Congress for a day in your life: What do you vote to do?

If I was President.... Hmm , Okay, I am back. Let's see here. It's a two edged sword for me. On one hand I would do everything possible for peace and diplomatically attempt to extinguish all threats and never advance on any country with war in mind. However, 9-11 proves that we can be attacked at any moment by radical, terrorists. So, do sit back and prepare to counter and attempt or move to wipe out all those whom put our safety and freedom at risk?

It's a very hard place to be ( as President ) in my opinion and no matter what choice he makes or is led to make, it will be wrong by some and right by others. Being able to see deep into the abyss at what the future holds as to alter each decision is unfortunately not a gift God gave us.

However, in situations like these to me, I believe, all we can do is trust the God's plan, is a plan that is righteous. I will get on my hands and knee's and pray for our Government and it's politicians. I speak not ill will, or curse those whom God put in charge.

I know, this is not totally on topic and may not be much help, but it's what it is. :tongue3:

So, to answer your question, I would personally sit back and allow them to fight unless they posed the US a threat and then act.

It's been pointed out a "no fly zone" would entail more than just shooting down Syrian Air Force planes. It would mean hitting their command and control facilities and their anti-aircraft installations. 'Sides so far it's been pretty much an urban warfare war, not much use of air power.

Obama has lied about everything else but we're supposed to believe him when he "claims" Syria has used chemical weapons? Are we really that gullible?
