The ONLY source that is claiming this was a gay pride event is the "news" source in the OP.

I understand Taiwan is in a different time zone but I always assumed it was reckoned in hours not months.

As of this moment it is 11:41 PM Monday June 29th in Taipei.

October it would seem is still a long way off there also.

Call it a mega “show-only” or whatever you name it, Taipei Pride does bring the Asian LGBTQI community forward for greater visibility.

Like all other gay prides in the world, dressing up fabulously too little or too “over” is the unspoken rule. Taipei Pride 2015 took place just last Saturday, receiving somewhat 10,000 participants from across the country and other parts of Asia. You can often spot some really interesting costumes, which adds the sort of fun element into the event. Having said that, the Pride is definitely more than that, much much more. As we started asking the participants randomly on the street, we found that there are some commonly shared beliefs and viewpoints that are quite valuable to understanding what the Asian LGBT community really think about towards gay prides.

(NaturalNews) EDITOR'S NOTE: Taiwan is not yet a society that has embraced people coming out of the closet. While in America, reporting on a group as being gay is considered routine and in no way offensive -- because being gay is openly accepted almost everywhere -- the designation of "gay" is still considered highly offensive in Taiwan, and even insulting in the minds of some.

As a result, there has been extreme social pressure applied to the sources we originally cited in our story, and one of them related to the South China Morning Post (Nanzao) has already backed off its original online report which linked the rainbow party to a global gay rights celebration, altering their text and now disclaiming any such link ever existed.
