Tamoca, WA billing Military of Anti-War Protest Cost

    Both the city of Tacoma and the Port of Tacoma make huge amounts of money due to the presence of Ft. Lewis and McCord AFB; I imagine the city would go into the panic mode if BRAC was closing the posts. The cost of dealing with protesters is the cost of being a city that draws in many anti-war type people. If I was the military commander or port director there I wouldn't even dignify the request with an answer. That $500K is small potatoes compared to the economic impact of the military in the area.
