Bay Buchanan, chairman of Team America, a political action committee founded by Congressman Tom Tancredo that is dedicated to securing our borders endorses Senator Jim Holt for Lt. Governor of Arkansas.
Holt has clear grasp of the issue and is a fierce opponent of amnesty and mass immigration. Unlike many candidates, he is not a Johnny-come-lately who just recently took on illegal immigration for political gain. Holt backs up his talk with a consistently pro-enforcement voting record. While in the Arkansas State Senate, Holt proposed Senate Bill 206 in 2005, which would have strengthened voter identification and denied taxpayer funded benefits to illegal aliens. He was instrumental in defeating House Bill 1525 in 2005 , which would have given scholarships and in-state tuition to illegal aliens. If elected, Team America is confident that Holt will be an asset to those who wish to enforce our laws and secure the border."

The last poll I saw indicated that Jim Holt would win the GOP primary without a run-off.

And what is so amazing is that he doesn't get rave revues from the press. Hey, I'm excited, this guy is bucking the trend.Looking forward to seeing a great future for this man.
-
And the fact that State Senator Holt is pretty much libertarian in his policy prescriptions is absolutely great in my view.
-
He's a bit too libertarian for my tastes, so I do not support him in the Republican primary. If he wins the primary, though, I would probably vote for him in the general election.
-
Since I am not a member of the Republican Party I will forego voting in the primary elections, but I would certainly vote for Mr. Holt in November. He, like Congressman Ron Paul, is one of the rare exceptions among Republican candidates that I would vote for.
-
He is also a neocon who support the war. I am glad you have finally come to your senses.
Joseph Botwinick -
Supporting the Iraq war does not a neocon make. And being as libertarian as Jim Holt is, I seriously doubt that he comes close to meeting the definition of a neoconservative as neoconservatives have, by and large, pretty much made their peace with the welfare state.
The foreign policy of the United States is not relevant to the Arkansas Lt. Governor's race.
A candidate's support for the invasion of Iraq is not an instant disqualifier with me.
What matters to me is a candidate's overall view toward government. If he truly advocates limited government and views the government as usually being the problem instead of the solution, as Jim Holt does, then there a good chance I will support him.

Sounds like a good choice. Things arent so good here. Our governor was indicted this week.

Jim Holt has for a long time been in favor of stopping illegal immigration. He is no Johnny-Come-Lately to the issue. I have followed his political career since he ran for the U.S. Senate in 2004 when he received 44% of the vote even though he was massively outspent by the incumbent.

Latest poll results from Channel 11 in Little Rock heading into tomorrow's primary:
Holt 58%
Banks 15%
Matayo 10%
Undecided 17%
Still looks like Jim Holt wins the GOP nomination without a run-off. -
Well, who do you Arkansawyers support in the governor's race?
Roy -
Immigrant bashing? No, Jim Holt is against illegal immigration though and is more willing to actually serve the people instead of making the usual empty promises as other politicians.
Daisy, I can't think of a single newspaper that endorses Jim Holt and for that reason I believe that Jim Holt is doing what most politicians can't do without. Not only is Jim Holt having to do without a major endorsement from any of our Arkansas Newspapers, Jim Holt does not even get a lot of backing from his peers. So yes I say Jim Holt is bucking a trend that for so long many politicians have relied on.
Tommorrow will tell though as we are concluding our primaries in Arkansas. -

Right now, Holt is in a firm lead with 52% of the vote.
