I saw this when he posted it...good for him.

I notice that Tim Lee responded to the tweet and asked Tebow to reconsider. Does Tim Lee have a connection to FBC Dallas?

I hope....
I hope he hasn't "caved" into the pressures that undoubtedly MUST exist for people with "celebrity" status to conform to the compromise and political correctness of the day we live in. I have followed this young man's career with interest and respect for his outspoken public testimony for the Lord in the face of much criticism. He has stood up to it admirably well. I just hope he has not succumbed to the pressures of the crowd that preaches the "gay is OK", "live and let live", "let's just luv everybody", or "Islam is a religion of peace!" kind of garbage. There does exist the real possibility in this day we live in that if Tebow were to take a STRONG STAND against the prevailing sins of our day that he would be quickly invited to NEVER PLAY ANOTHER DOWN OF PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL. It is getting less and less likely that people such as himself who move in the orbit of public life such as Tebow and others who profess faith in Christ will be able to remain there if they are to be truly faithful to our Lord. Some choices will have to be made and they have eternal consequences. I hope Tim chooses RIGHTLY. First Baptist Dallas and Dr. Jeffress have taken their stand for God and the truths of His Word as they understand them. The MEDIA is gonna have a "spin" extravaganza with this one...watch and see!

Just a suggestion...
I don't "tweet" or "facebook" for personal reasons but since the rest of the world seems to let me suggest that some of you ought to tweet Bro. Tebow and invite him to join us here on the Baptist Board. Just "barrage" him with invites. It would be interesting to engage him in a dialogue about this kind of stuff. Let's see just how "genuine" he really is. JMHO

Here is an actual reason why:

OK
(note: this is NOT a quote out of Websters)
In my view, "genuine" for the Christian means that we should walk true to and in accordance with the tenants of the Christian faith, the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the truths of the Bible as salt and light in this evermore increasingly dark world we live in. We should do that REGARDLESS of what it may cost us personally. We need to (Jude 3) "earnestly contend for the faith...." and seek to die daily to this flesh and it's whims and desires and be filled with and walk in the Spirit. THAT is "genuine" in my estimation. I am sure there are other things that could be said as well. But that is my basic (and I believe Biblical) premise.

Go Gators!!!! (that doesn't explain anything either, but I just threw that in.) -

"While I was looking forward to sharing a message of hope and Christ's unconditional love with the faithful members of the historic First Baptist Church of Dallas in April, due to new information that has been brought to my attention, I have decided to cancel my upcoming appearance. I will continue to use the platform God has blessed me with to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all those needing a brighter day. Thank you for all of your love and support. God Bless!" -
My guess is that he figured out the Jeffress is a fundamentalist nut and wanted nothing to do with him or the church that supports him.

I have from the first admired Tim Teow's unwavering stance on his Faith and his no fear approach of sharing it. Could he be giving in to the pressures that Carrie Underwood who got her singing start in church and quite often referred to her beliefs publically gave into by saying "Gay is OK" = A person ought to be able to marry whom ever they please.

His witness, to me, appeared to be mostly on the surface anyway. Too much was being made of his antics on the field. -
