On Monday, Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, appeared before a juvenile court to defend the family of Justina Pelletier against abuse by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).
15-year-old ice-skating competitor was taken from her parents by DCF, held for over a year, and is now confined to a wheelchair because of maltreatment for a metabolic disorder--simply because her family questioned a diagnosis.

Even The Huffington Post is on this story with malice toward the hospital and the Massachusetts DCF. This is about nothing more than medical arrogance, and sadly many of the self-designated "children's hospitals" around the country have this same attitude. Doctors at these hospitals seem to think their alleged expertise in children's diseases gives them the right to be cold, distant, and arrogant. Their nurses soon develop the exact same attitude. Perhaps in other cities the local Children's Hospital does not fit into this category, but Children's Mercy in Kansas City certainly does, and if Boston's is like this, perhaps it is time to investigate these pediatric hospitals, as well as the child welfare agencies, and ferret out the arrogance and stupidity.

This has been a horrible story to watch and grieve over. It is the spectre of government mismanagement.

Terrible story - and terrible that this agency gets away with this so often. Here is a link to the promo for "The Stealing of American Children": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYkdALScS48&feature=youtu.be

The judge now gave the state permanent custody of the girl. Of course, the state also very recently "identified" a hospital they think can provide the girl with good care. It happens to be the same one the parents were taking her too. Odd, with the claim her treatment there constituted "medical abuse."
Sounds like they're punishing the family for proving them wrong. Typical of that agency...

We are now finding out Justina Pelletier is not the only victim of this arrogance and elitism displayed in her case by the Massachusetts DCF.
Incidentally, the Massachusetts DCF has an "unofficial motto": "Men are abusers, women are victims, the children are ours." It is what they believe, even though, particularly in the Pelletier case, they've proven themselves incompetent to care for children.
