I have a slight problem with my animation career. I haven’t started it yet, but there’s a certain comic I wanted to animate because I can see it happen so badly! I’m sort of addicted to this comic, it’s a great story + art and all, but it’s the kind of comic and writer you can’t complement without being derogatory-especially if you’re that kind of person. What should I do? I’d reveal it, but that also might not be permissible….

...this is not a problem?
-
I'm confused as to what you're trying to say.
-
If you're addicted to it, then it doesn't matter if it's Japanese anime or bugs bunny. You must refrain from it until your addiction is under control.
-
ah, now it won't let me edit anymore, okay. I should remember that. well here goes:
Theres a secular cartoon that I really want to put next to 'The Boondocks' on Adult Swim or someting. -
Still not sure what you are asking.
-
Isn't it a question of should I
-
Does what you want to do encourage people in the Lord or discourage them? Are you inviting people to the love of God or inviting them to the things of the world? That should be the deciding point for you.
If you are still unsure, ask God. He gives much better advice than we do! -
it was just for entertainment, I guess. but i didn't want to open an entire debate on what Baptists should or should not do/observe for entertainment, ad I didn't want to find out entertainment wasn't allowed anyway...
-
Um, I dont thing that reading the GD word is entertaining.
-
Entertainment is great. It also has an effect, though. What effect do you want yours to have?
-
Oh, I really wasn't thinking about it. I'm only fantasing about the art...the music...I mean if that aired, no one would stop talking about us for years...My school would get a ton of prestige....

You are going to have to make some choices in your life. The most important ones, aside from the choice about whether to be a Christian or not, will have to do with the things you do which will affect others. In the long run, the eternal welfare of any one person in your school is more important than anything the world will ever say about your or your school or anything else. If you are in a position to encourage anyone to turn to Christ, and you would rather get people to notice YOU, you are in serious trouble spiritually.
-
Uncharted Spirit, I want to apologize for that last sentence and its implications. I just got your PM and now I know more about you all I want to do is encourage you to keep asking questions and keep thinking things through. You are not doing a half-bad job of it! Hang in there and keep on keepin' on!

If your animating this cartoon just for the fame, attention, etc. then you are doing it for the wrong reason. I agree with Helen. You need to start asking God if what you are doing is glorifying Him. Sure... getting praises for a good job on something is very refreshing. But doing something for just that reason is very wrong. If this certain cartoon has crude humor, taking God's name in vain, etc. then it shouldn't be written anyway no matter how funny it is. Will this certain cartoon good for ur Christian testimony? Just pray about and really think how this could affect you, ur relationship with God, and everyone around u in the long run.
-
perhaps I could convert the author...*taking another glance*... WOW, that would take real spiritual power, nevermind. Now I'll be tormented by my imagination for the rest of my life with this opprotunity...or until someone else takes it....
-
Colossians 3:8 (KJV) 8But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
This cartoon is full of bad words.
(I guess now we need tread on what filthy communication is) -

-

-
