I heard a similar story on NPR the other day on the way to work.
    Let's hope for the best.

Even if it were true why would it be relevant to this situation? Nothing "fair" about bringing up unrelated situation just to make them look bad for being missionaries. We know nothing of those circumstances or the reasons why even if it is true. And quite frankly to add it to this story is just gossip.

Shouldn't a person who claims to represent God be squeaky clean? Doesn't the Bible say something about that?

Actually, a leader in the church like a pastor or elder or deacon should have a good reputation to the non-Christian world. Whether it would apply to this woman or not, I'm not sure. It depends on her position - is she a ministry leader in her church? Or is this a volunteer thing she does?

Perhaps I should have said, "WHO is 'squeaky clean'?" or "What do you mean by "squeaky clean"?

Squeaky clean - someone who at least pays their employees? Bible has lots to say about that.

He's bringing up the reputation of this woman who led the group to take the children in Haiti since apparently there seems to be reasons for concern about some past actions. I am not sure what he means by paying employees unless she had some and didn't pay them.
