Why don't you have an issue with
John 1:1 ?
John 1:1 states the same. In
John 1:1 , the word which is God is with God. In
John 1:18 the only begotten is with God. The words "only begotten" tell you.

John 1:1 is not at issue.

Because you say so.

No, the scriptures themselves declare that to us!

That is not what I said.... I'm simply saying that just because there are variants, God's truth is not diminished. I still have yet to see you answer why you care about the variants today but not those of the Vulgate or Septuagint. Why do you make it a big deal about it now and not question why God allowed Bibles with tons more variants to be used for good.

Have those various variants chosen for different translations cause any major doctrines to be altered/changed.compromised?

The original New Testament was Godbreathed, not the man made Latin or Greek translations.

I have a fast red car.
I have a red fast car.
My car is red & fast.
My car is fast & red.
I have a Ford Fusion that's red, with a turbocharged 6-banger. It's fast !
I hit 140 mph in my red Fusion, & still had some hammer left, but 140
was as fast as I dared go on that rickety old Interstate 64.
All those messages say the same thing; I have a fast red car. The longer ones still carry trhat message in more words providing more intel. That's the same for Scripture, different mss & translations. They carry the same messages in different words.

The issue is verbal plenary insperation and preservation of the original given inerrant word of God.

Ok, but that doesn't change the fact nobody has the originals, and what God chose to use for about 1000 years differed greatly from what we have today.

Inerrancy was for the Originals, and Infallibility for our translations!

Did the Apostles record every single word spoken by Jesus all of the time, or did they give to us the Gist of what was spoken?
