Just got home from church. A call came in during church from our missionary family in Africa. They are surrounded by a large rebel band as I post. For the first time the missionaries have loaded their guns. They ask for URGENT PRAYER RIGHT NOW. Please pray for their safety.

Thanks Gib. I am praying they make it through the night. It is a very dire situation. I will call Preacher tomorrow and get an update and post it on here.

My mother celebrated her 85th birthday. We had a cake for her at church.

Kelly, Elizabeth, and the children stayed with us last night. Kelly spoke at a church in Corning today. They all went over to see mom last night - I think she thought that was a neat birthday present.

We all need to be praying that Jim and Sherrie get back on speaking terms again - I miss both of them.

Also miss Katie Bond.

I hope they all will come back.

I think I'll post Mondays devotional - so I don't have to do it in the AM.

Will look for a just as bright day tomorrow as I had today---preached tonight on the qualifications of a Deacon---ut-oh!!!!!! We have an important deacon election comin' up real soon--I'll share some thoughts with ya'll tomorrow--

Sheila and ole JonMagee will be up before any of ya'll---"But what about you, Blackbird?? Won't they be up before you??"---No, and here's why! I have set my computer clock to alarm the 6am time for the Big Island(Great Britain)---I'll be up before the chickens--but I'll also be up with Jon and Sheila---pretty neat, huh?? Gettin' up when they do?? Now I will be able to know if they wake up grouchy or if they just let um sleep!!

See, even Dan's mom got cake. My sister wanted a coconut cream pie for her birthday. When I told her everyone wanted cake, she said they can have cake on their birthday. Oh well, I couldn't have any of it anyways.

yes it would be good to see the fellowship resumed with all taking their rightfull place. God has called us all to have a spirit of reconciliation. But then it is not the 1st time I have spoken on the board to the effect that even if we do not understand why the other person is upset we should be endeavouring to make up for the sake of the testimony. That means all involved in a dispute.


BTW, blackbird, have you seen the culprit who took my photo. just seems to have vanished

Dan, I have been praying for Jim and Sherrie, but not having been around much the past few days I hadn't noticed that Kate wasn't here. Sorry Kate (hugs). It is so difficult when people you like and respect are involved. I pray they will be back soon. All of them.

Ephesians 4:1-6 As a prisoner for the Lord, then I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humbel and gentle; be patient, vearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit throught the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit - just as you were called to one hope when you were called - one Lord, one faith , one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Ephesians 4:26 Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

1 Corinthians 13: 9b - 10 Love your neighbour as your self. Love does no harm to its nieghbour. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law.

jonmagee---I'll keep my keen ear open---if you don't know who the culprit is--here's what cha do--ya hafta "lay low"--just act casual and don't try too hard to find who it is---and just keep listenin'---sooner or later the culprit will say somethin' or do somethin' that'll blow their "cover."

---that's why--if the Sheriff don't know who robbed the store and the clues don't "tattle" on the culprit, the Sheriff will simply go back to his office and keep reading his comic books at his desk--'cause he knows that the culprit can't stand it and is gonna talk to somebody about what it is they've done--and whoever he talks to just might "snitch"(especially if they know there's a handsome reward involved!!) By the way, is there a reward? 'Cause Blackbird is also a part time Bounty hunter!!

-either that or the culprit will get so full of remorse and conviction that he himself will march into the Sheriff's office and turn himself in and the Sheriff will be left lookin' like the hero and he ain't done nothin' but read his comic books, sit around eatin' doughnuts and drinkin' coffee!

So, keep your badge on and your handcuffs ready!! Blackbird has been "deputized" and has the posse all ready to go--fresh horses and enough food for a week!!!!! Although the guys ridin' with me will probably have the food ate up in a day!!!!! I'm gonna hafta talk to those guys about that!! Last time we went the guy who was supposed to bring the matches for the camp/cook fire forgot um--had to eat cold beans and sleep cold that nite!! I need to report him, don't I?!!

Wanna ride with us Sheriff jonmagee?? My bloodhound has picked up some hot trails leadin' in a certain direction!!
