It would also give blackbird an excuse to wear his John Deere robe that rsr was talking about. He could just say it was to make the wrestlers feel welcome there.

Praying for my "big sister" Sherrie, that God would heal her of her ailments. Maybe a cyber-hug will do the trick!

Just got back from my doctor. My blood pressure was 136/85, lowest it's been in a good while Maybe 'cause I am not as stressed as I've been the past four days. More good news is that my doctor wants me to hold off taking one of my meds until she checks my pressure again Monday afternoon. Also, the school board in Clarendon, AR, approved my hiring, so maybe in a day or two I can head "west" and sign that contract.

Regarding my transportation, my parents are going to let me have my mom's '93 Grand Am. Even tho it's a '93, it has less than 20K miles. My dad is going to get some new hose and pipes put on it so nothing will happen to it while I'm on the road. I will be flying from Nashville to San Antonio next Thursday, stay there thru the weekend, then on my way back to Tennessee drive over to New Orleans to visit some kinfolk down there.

LJS vs Capn D's. I used to like Capn D's; they were a fave place to head in Starkville when the cafeteria/food court was closed. But at the one in Jackson, as well as one in Dyersburg, the batter isn't as crisp and crunchy as it used to be

I am not a wrestling fan, but I remember hearing about the late "Ravishing" Rick Rude when I taught before. One of my students(who also claimed that I looked like Hitler) used to impersonate Rude in front of me. I wonder if I used to look like Rude when I had my mustache

    Congratulations on the new job!

Is Claredon in southern Arkansas, east of Little Rock?

Thank you, and yes it is east of Little Rock. But I would consider it more eastern Arkansas/Delta rather than southern. It is about 15 miles south of Brinkley and Interstate 40.

We used to be dedicated WWF fans, we stopped watching as the girls got closer to being naked, and the time they mocked Jesus we were disgusted, haven't seen it since. Back a long itme ago wrestling was good to watch, but it became more commericalized, and now days you just have to be a good actor on steroids to wrestle.
Shawn Michaels was always my favorite.

Nobody likes the heel. But, without the heel they would'nt have a show. Flair is a better heel than a "face". You know, they say that only the good die young, so...Flair and the Hulkster must be bad.

Of course! Wouldn't be "church" without 'im! But I'm warnin' ya! No "kat caws!" As the Coffee Shop's Probation officer--I would hate to call ya down in front of everybody!!

Bruiser Bob Swetan, Doctor X, and the Hulkster are among my favorites--although if my daddy caught wind that I was even writin' this stuff on the board about wresslin'--he'd roll over in his grave. He was one who would be willin' to get in their faces and . . . ! He kinda figured if he could "Army" his way across Inchon Bay and over frozen Chosen reservoir---he was man enough to square off with . . .!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

    PS--Remember now! No kat caws!

This is what I love so much about these threads. You just never know what the topic will be the next time you visit. Who would have thought you could come to a Batist website and see people discussing professional wrestling.

Just checking in guys! Rod you are right!

Now not only does the Coffee Shop have a Chaplian, but now a Probation Officer. My My...blackbird sounds more like Boss Hogg everyday. You know how Boss Hogg always ran everything. But blackbird is the good Boss Hogg!

Think I am gonna call him Boss blackbird!

Does Boss Blackbird have a Rosco (and Flash) to help him run everything and make everyone behave?
