"The Coffee Shop"

rsr,
That's cause Sherrie keeps an ample supply of extra, extra caffinated coffee in the back supply room--(you have to personally ask for it and have your own code to get in)--

besides--as owner of the building that Sherrie rents from you for her coffee shop--it gives you no right to "barge in" with rodh--demanding 5 years rent in advance--

and besides that--I just thought you were gettin' a little too close to the cash register--Sherrie made sure to get the old style cash register--you know, the one that makes the "ding" noise when the cash drawer is opened--and I heard it "ding" and I knew Sherrie was in the back cookin' up hamburgers on the grill--and hey! I have to protect--"A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!!"

Your Southern Baptist preachin', cash register protectin' buddy!

OK, Sherrie, I think it is time to consider switching blackbird to decaf. He is starting to get paranoid.

When is the last time you got some sleep blackbird? You know you can't keep watching that cash register 24/7 without getting some rest every now and then.

I just noticed that rsr already recommended making the switch to decaf. Now blackbird is going to think it is a conspiracy against him.

Sherrie: "Bro. Ed...let us know something when you find out."

Jim1999: "Thank you, Brother Ed, Tuesday is on
the prayer calendar,,the 15th it is.
God bless and touch you, my friend."

Thank you.
I couldn't wait until Tuesday to call.
So i called this morning.
I have an appointment Friday
to have the basal cell carcinoma cut
off my neck.

The basal cell carcinoma is the best
kind of cancer to have, if you have
to go have a cancer :(

DHK: "You kept your keyboard for that long?"

Don't think so. That was several computers
ago. Computers last on the average eight years
but are replaced on the average of every
two years, for the latest upgrades.

DHK: "Have computers been around that long.
"

I've been a computer professional for 27 years.
I've only had a personal computer for
the last 18 years.

DHK: "I was in college in 1970 (I'm dating
myself now), and I took a course in
computers then. It was called Fortran IV."

I took it so long ago it was called THREE-TRAN

Not really. No, the computer ten years
ago was a 386 computer already, IBM compatable,
you know. I've been on the internet for 18 years.
My son, the day he was two years old,
had figured out all the letters of
the alphabet from a game we played
on a Commodore 64. It popped up a letter and you typed it.
I would say the name of the letter that
showed up, My pre-2-year-old would find it
on the keyboard and punch it. And it told
us how many out of 20 we got right.
I took my first computer course in
the summer of 1968, big IBM mainframe,
multi-million dollar computer
(about as functional as the 386 was).

DHK: "I had to punch cards."

Been there, done that, got the "t"-shirt,
wore out the "t"-shirt.

You guys are adoreable! I saw where you posted on my thread in the above forum. Thank you. ;)

Ok...its Wash Machine problems at the daughters house. Whew....was she upset. The washer will wash no more. But I bought her a used washer only to see it has a leak somewhere in the back. Not around the faucets. So after much debate.... I raised the roof a little and they came and got it. Sorry fellows but my profession is not fixing washing machines. I snatched my check back...and now we are looking for another.

Ok so check this out....today is my daughters birthday. So the other daughter comes by to wish her happy birthday.

In their conversation they want to know when I die who should they ask to do the service. ummmmmmmmmmm....I guess someone should come get my walker because according to them I will be gone soon! Hello! Kids!

Ok....so you are wondering who I said. Well the closes one of you all is Blackbird. Guess I will have to start a gas fund so he can get up here and do it. Guess he will need some motel expenses too. I would never be able to afford the gas from Scotland to here! But then Jude is in need of a Job. Nope...he has confirmed he got his Job...YEP....Blackbird would have to do the Job. Wonder if they will let me live to at least next week? hehehe!

I am so sorry Ed you have to go through this. But what a blessing; you will be ok. God is good! I will be praying!

Bless the Lord, Brother Ed, and further blessings upon you as you go for surgery to remove the "good" cancer. Can't cancel prayers now, the application has already been registered; no refunds.

My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS-80. It was very modular and could be upgraded without difficulty. We then moved up to a Radio Shack SX1000. It was a 386 and it is still on the go somewhere in our area. It gets passed along to someone just learning and they pass it on as they move up. It came with printer and colour monitor and the total cost at the time (1984) was $5,000.00 Canadian. Our current, very modern, with oodles and oodles of stuff cost only $2200.00 complete 19" colour flat monitor and combo printer, scanner, copier and fax. What a difference.

Cheers,

Jim

/ed invents the BB Coffee Shop special cyber-coffee mug/
/start with a 55-gallon container ... /

Thank you for your prayers.

Yep, i was on the internet before
Al Gore invented it

Eighteen years ago i got on GEnie
which was bigger than AOL at the time,
they hosted all the compters to store
the posts.

Yes, i was over cyber-by
the group of people writing the Science
Fiction for L. Ron Hubbard, you know,
the 3rd rate hack Science Fiction
writer that found a way to become a millionare,
start a religion like Scientology :(
Anyway, at least his team could write
better Science Fiction than he could

I must be the luckiest person, to have such good and sweet friends!

Sherrie
</font>
Thank you.
Luck has nothing to do with it.
It is the Grace of God.

God bless Sister Sherrie and her
round of "good and sweet friends".

Sherrie,
Personally, I'm holdin' out for the Rapture!!! But if worse comes to worse---I'll come---say a few Southern Baptist "good words"--hang around your family for a little while--eat a few pieces of pound cake in the fellowship hall--til I've got to go--and tell your family--"Bet ya'll can hardly wait to see her!!"

God bless your heart! I always tell the Funeral Home director after the graveside something like "Maybe this 'll be the the last time we get to work together like this!!"

So did I when I took my first computer course as a high school senior in 1982    </font>
It wasn't too long after that (around 1987) that I had my first personal computer. It was a commodore 64. We had to use something like a cassette tape to run it. We have some fond memories of it. It was not until 1991 that we graduated to a 386, and have been upgrading ever since.

Sherrie,
I'll bett'cha that your weather down there doesn't even begin to compare to our's. As I look out the window great big snow flakes are falling. Why it almost looks like Christmas. Is there a holiday at the end of this week? It is 31 degrees out, and the snow is starting to accumulate. Hopefully it won't be too much in our area. West of here they are expecting quite a bit.

My first computer, circa 1981-82, was the TI 99/4A, a very good graphics machine that was quickly orphaned by TI.

After that, I used a proprietary system at work, then a 386/SX-16. I bought a 386/SX-25, and have since progressed though 486/SX-(33)66, then a P-75, to an (overclocked) Celeron 300 (450) to a P4-1.8 gig. Not to mention the secondary (and tertiary) machines, such as a Cyrix-66, AMD K5-166, P-166, AMD DX4-100, AMD-233 and AMD-366. And probably some machines I've forgotten about.

Anyone need parts?

Went to the county jail last nite with one of my soul winnin' deacons(the only soul winnin' one I've got)--rough place--

Saw the Holy Spirit save 4 young black dudes!! Man, that was glory! The spirit of anti-christ was workin' there last nite--BUT--what's fun is watchin' the Spirit of Jesus overcome--Almighty God can save them from their badness!

But here's something I've noticed! How easy it is for them to be saved from their badness--is true! Here is what I noticed--

I was in the bank yesterday morning--started talking to the cashier about our SonRise services comin' up--and she started talkin' about hers and about how she was going--and I asked her

"M'am! Are you saved? Are you born-again?"
"Actually, no I'm not!"
"Wouldn't you like to be?"
"Well, I've always thought I was good enough without being saved! Why do I need to be??"
"Because M'am! The best form of human goodness is badness in the sight of Almighty God! You need to be saved! Born again!"

No response from her! Ya'll pray for Mrs. Davis!

How come most bad people see their badness as badness and want to be saved from it---and those who are good--don't recognize that the best form of goodness is badness when its held against the goodness of the Lord Jesus Christ??

You see! That's the way ole Blackbird was--a picture of human goodness--until I realized that all of my goodness and righteousness is as filthy rags compared to Jesus--and I repented of my sins and received Jesus as Savior and Lord! Amen??

There! Finished with my coffee!!

Sherrie, how much do I owe for the coffee?? How about preachin' your funeral for nothing?? And since when did you start thinkin' about "checkin' out" of this old world?? Feelin' sorry for yourself?? I'm like that a lot! I told my wife just the other day after a rough day(I'll trade you my rough days as a preacher for your rough days as whatever you are), "Maybe I'll just die in my sleep tonite and it'll all be over with!!"

Her--"OOOOOOOHHHH, no you don't Buster!!"

Give me another cup!!

Your Southern Baptist preachin', death defyin' buddy,

Blackbird
