Oh, you ARE old. That love song was playing in the forties when my wife was, ah, er, named! She was Teresa Irene.

Teresa with no "h" because the nurse in the hospital said that Theresa was the "catholic" spelling (I not sure of that) and her parents were good, lost protestants.

And "Good night, Irene". For real.

NO. HER LAST NAME ISN'T WALTON and she didn't live on Walton Mountain in the Appalachians! :D

Hee-hee! Well, not too old! I was listening to the Kingston Trio, circa 1989, singing it on their Greatest Hits CD today! :-D

Hello everyone,

Abiyah, no...no packages yet. Should be any time now I would think. So pleased you enjoyed yours. How did it compare?

Good Morning Sheila!

How did your ride in the Chunnel turn out? Was it as bad as you thought it might be? (I know it would be for me!)

29º here this morning with 20-30 mph winds!

Good morning, everybody!

Well, after my "wild week of parties"(!), I had all kinds of stuff lined up to do today. However, I woke up coughing, stuffy head and fever...and I actually feel pretty lousy. So, I'm getting ready to go out to get OTC drugs since I didn't plan for this, come back, take the meds and probably just lay around today. :(

Rats...I really had a lot to do, but I just don't feel like doing anything.

Had our staff Christmas party last night and it was really good. I noticed I was coughing occasionally, but didn't think too much about it. Got home, went to bed and didn't sleep well at all. I kept thinking, "Oh no...I REALLY don't want to be sick...right here at Christmas"!!! But maybe I've caught it early and it will be short-lived, I hope!!

Will check in later...
CJ

Thankful

Hi, Abiyah, Glad you have your internet service.

CJ, Get well soon. You may just need lots of rest after being such a party girl.

Hello Ladies;

I am just popping in for a minute between batches of peanut brittle!

CJ: Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. That is bad anytime, but worse during the holidays when there is so much to do!

I stll have the sniffles, but am eating Vitamin C tablets...it seems to be stopping the sniffles from turning into a full fledged head cold.

Back to the kitchen........catch ya'll later.

I really liked it. In general, it had stronger flavor than ours, and it seemed fresher. The only problem I had was that I waited too long to eat the last two bars, so they were showing age. I sure hope yours arrives fresh!

Hello everyone, just taking a quick break from job hunting online for Jim, home schooling, house work and being down in the dumps over the non-job situation.

C.J., I pray this is not the flu but just a cold and that you quickly snap out of this! Thankfully it's the weekend so you'll be able to get some rest. I've had several calls from church wanting to know if I am a S/S teacher because this person and that person needs a fill in.

Abiyah and Sheila, what did you compare? I must have missed that thread earlier!

Sue, Keep warm out there! I know you have company arriving at any time!

Dr. Bob, DRIVE safe! Happy Baby Day!

Did I miss anyone? Hope not!

Hello all,

I hope you are all having a good day.
Sue, you sound so very busy and industrious, I hope you are enjoying yourself too.

CJ, how on earth do you manage to get sick at Christmas? I think you should go back to bed with a nice hot glass of white wine cider vinegar and honey.

Abiyah, I am so pleased you enjoyed the little packages. I think maybe England is more expensive than the U.S. but I don't know.

Diane, no you haven't missed any posts. Abiyah and I have swapped chocolates. I sent her some English chocolates and she is sending me some American. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we have thoroughly enjoyed shopping and choosing what to buy and send. Unfortunately, one of the packs wouldn't fit in the box and Rob and I couldn't let it go to waste now could we? It was only a small pack of maltesers, I don't know if you have them over there.

Dan, of course people are missed if they don't post. After all, we are one big family here aren't we? It is nice to stay in touch and hear all about what you people thousands of miles away get up to.

Going for a wander round the forums now,

Good Afternoon Dan! I'm always afraid I'll insult someone by not wishing them hello or responding to their post. I have this habit of only reading 'Today's Active Topics' and can miss quite a bit. LOL

How's the family? Will you see any of the grandchildren for the holidays? It'll just be the four of us.

Hi all!

School got out early today, so I am back home snug and warm. I am off work now until January 4th!

This evening I am making cookies with vanilla wafers, peanut butter and miniature marshmallows. I haven't decided if I'm going to put chocolate on them or not.

Need to bake pumpkin pies either tonight or tomorrow morning. We are having our Christmas dinner tomorrow (late afternoon).

IT'S A GIRL. Born at about 10 a.m. We were up here in Buffalo watching the grandkids (allowing HER mom to be there) 20.75 inches, 9# 5oz

Absolutely beautiful, filled out, black hair and nails need trimming! Mom is doing well considering an all night ordeal. Dad is beyond help.

Arguing about the name, so right now it is Baby Girl Griffin on all the documents! At least she has a LAST name, better than many kids born today.

Hospital is giving me permission to use their lab to send a couple emails . . and my cyber family here has priority, too!

More details when we drive back tonight or early in the a.m. Saturday.

Granddad too.

Only problem is, she's been cheated out of her first Christmas, just like my daughter was (12/12). I dressed her in a "My first Christmas" t-shirt and put her under the tree for a picture. But she had no idea what was going on. Now the next year - age 1 and two weeks - she was walking and talking a bit and had a great time!

So glad to hear all is well! I guess you were right about her being a girl because she's so late! LOL

Praying for a safe trip home!
