Ben Shapiro: Posted: May 16, 2007
I know most of you won't read this but it seems accurate and poignant. They are attacking Christianity, and will soon move to restrict or deny conservative viewpoints.
The Democrats' big lie

It's also inaccurate, and most of its "points" are a stretch at best.
But I read it. -
I appreciated that very accurate article that hits the nail on the head.

This kid is saying that the Fairness Doctrine is unfair because it allows both sides of a political view to air their position. Gee, that would require that the current ultra conservative stranglehold on radio to be broken. If you support one political party in the United States and no opposing views you support his position.
-
 Thanks, Hillclimber. Good read. Thank goodness we defeated the Dems HR-1093 today.

it doesn't "allow" both sides to be heard. It requires by use of force that one side be silenced if they do not appreciate false and malicious information that promotes an evil such as socialism. Libs cannot win in the open market based on their ideas so they need communist tactics to get their view out. It is quite apparent that not to many folks want to hear their garbage. Air America is a prime example.
Conservative ideas are wanted and listend to so advertisers are paying to advertise on conservative shows. Liberal ideas are unwanted and cannot produce revenue. The free market cannot work for them so they must mandate that their ideas be heard. Nothing like cramming it down the throats of America. The liberal agenda faisl in radio and TV. The much hated Fox News beats out all the other channels. Even CNN had to hire Glen Beck because Conervative values sell and communist ideas do not. -
Gee...that pesky First Amendment again
-
Not surprisingly, Benjamin Shapiro doesn't understand the Fairness Doctrine. But since the source is WorldNet Daily, that was expected.
By the way, that would apply to the "drive-by media" as well (to usurp Rush Limbaugh). I guess Benjamin Shapiro didn't consider that though.....

So, the phrase "Drive-By Media" has its genesis in Mr. Limbaugh? I didn't know that. I've heard it a lot but never paid it much attention. Now I officially will pay it no attention
-
Though I am not sure if he can claim that he alone invented the phrase, Rush usually cannot get through the first segment of the show without saying it. In some cases, he says it more than once before the first commercial break.
As I said before, he reminds me of the horse in Animal Farm.
BTW, speaking of Rush, I have HBO in my hotel room. One of Bill Maher's guests is none other than the ghost writer of The Way Things Ought to Be, John Fund.
Regards, hope you are well,

Liberalism doesn't sell on the airwaves, so...
It's just another case of liberals wanting for free what conservatives have to pay for. -

I can easily see how the "fairness doctrine" could be used to require equal time for islam, atheism, etc. in response to the plethora of Christian programs on TV and radio.
They will try to get for free what Christian broadcasters have to pay for.
Same principle. -
So you want a country like Nazi Germany in which only one view is allowed? That's not the Land of the Free but you're welcome to your opinion. -
All the opposing views have to do is buy their time just like the others. The public will decide if they are worth watching or not.
If their message can bear scrutiny, they'll have no trouble finding sponsors.
Capitalism still works. -
-
Do you require special priviledges as well? Can't get anyone to pay for your message? Does that make you want me to pay to get it out for you? -
Capitalism still works. Wal Mart is ever fearful of Costco, who's operating costs are lower, buying power is nearly equal, markup is lower, and profitability is greater, and is growing at a proper rate. There's always a bigger dog.
