ManU are not in that great shape this year - they have about 4 loses adn are in second place in the league - 9 points back with 13 games to play.

Arsenal had a 49 game unbeaten streak broken earlier in the season. It wasn't a win streak as it had several draws.

oops...Keep forgeting this is an international board. Thought the heading meant a debate over the 49'ers and Green Bay dynasty's. I'll slide back under the door and go watch Sports Center.

Greatest amateur football club, American football? that would be the Ironton, Ohio Tanks of the 1920s-30s...they once beat the Chicago Bears!

Next would be the Portsmouth, Ohio Spartans...They were amateur for awhile, then turned pro, along with the Dayton Triangles, Columbus(OH)Bullies, Chicago Staleys(who became the Bears) and Pottsville(PA)Maroons, to name a few. almost won the NFL title in 1933, and DID win it in 1934 as the Detroit Lions.

Third would be the Chicago Staleys, mentioned above, formed right after WW1 by the Staley family of Staley's Syrup fame. They asked an employee, George Halas, to be player-coach, and after a few years, ended their sponsorship, selling the franchise to Halas for, I believe, $100...and the rest is history.

(All the above is JMHO!)

Yep thats the one. The famous Liverpool FC.

I'm actually mainly a QPR fan (who are my local team) but have always been a reds supporter too. Although, when the 2 teams were in the same division, I supported QPR when they play each other. But apart from that, I'll follow liverpool. We won tonight 3-1 against Bayern Leyverkusen (can't remember how its spelt)....Yay.

hey i watched the L'pool - Leverkusen game last night, man, Riise was on fire!!! and that game was without Gerrard. did you see the last goal? what a blunder. Donovan had a pretty good game once he came in. that guy should start for Leverkusen

Yeah Jerzey Dudek dropped another clanger....typical of the man. He's been a liability in goal for us all season. Riise is top notch. I've always rated him and he's proving to be one of our best ever signings. That left foot of his is like a rocket. Gerrard will be back for the return game in germany thankfully. Had it not been for dropsy dudek, we would have been safley thru to the last 8. Now its gonna be backs to the wall I reckon as the bay arena is an intimidating place and they play well at home. We'll see. Shame about arsenal tho...haha.

no way, i hope arsenal can come back. would be great to see 4 English teams in the final 8. is a shame about that last goal, but going in 3-1 helps. one L'pool goal will put leverkusen away. why was morientes on the bench?
