    They were never believers, Sam. This is where you really struggle.

    Second, God has no obligation to redeem anyone. He's not failing anyone or himself when he correctly judges sinners and declares them guilty.

    Is it controlling to save someone out of slavery, against their will, yet choose not to save all the others who are ignorantly enslaved?

    You really need to get over this false idea that God's choice to redeem is somehow an act of controlling dominance. It's not. It's an act of love and mercy.
