Two things here. Yes, Dawinian evolution is wrong about man being a descendant from lower animails. The argument that wrong notion is taught to be "magically changed" is a strawman argument.

 

Trying to turn a sarcastic characterization into a strawman is not helpful. We all know they did not literally think it was magical or intended by anyone to be magical. You may not like is sarcasm but sarcasm is not a strawman.
