OK, so Fred can be rather crude at times but this one has clean language and makes a good point on this subject:

Read his other articles/books at your own risk if you are somewhat sensitive to language.

More anti-semitic bigotry.
Not worth my time reading.
Joseph Botwinick -
Apparently you didn't read it.
-
Of course not. Anti-semitic bigotry is not worth my time reading. :D
Joseph Botwinick -
Thanks for posting that article, Stratiotes. I agree with the author that Israel should build the security fence for protection.
-
So, Joseph, I guess you are a pentecostal now rather than a baptist? Is it a gift of the word of knowledge that you can determine the content of an article without reading it? ;)
Don't worry Ken. Goading Joseph is its own reward. -
Put your hand on the television set and feel the power surging through your soul. I sense a strong disturbance in the Force...
Oh, wait a minute. I got my Robert Tilton and Obi Wan Kenobi lines mixed up. :D

Joseph, if you would read the article you would find that this author is pro-Israeli.
The trouble is that you look for anti-Israeli bigotry everywhere. You assume it is there. You have a huge inferiority complex about the Jews.
Hey, the Jews are people, nothing more, nothing less. They make mistakes just like everyone else. For a person to point this out does not make them a bigot regardless of what you say, Joseph. -

The author is too simplistic to be useful. His statement that "Israel took the land of the Palestinians by force of arms and proceeded to occupy it. True enough." is not true. That is where he leaves history. It is an anti-Israel statement.
As for his opinion that the wall won't work, he is wrong again. The wall has already started working. We need a wall like that between Canada and the USA and between Mexico and the USA. -
Joseph, a few questions:
Have you ever heard of Fred Reed?
Have you ever read anything he has written?
Do you think that Israel is sinless, as was our Savior?
btw...I haven't even opened the link yet myself, but I found your reaction very surprising. -
Interestingly, having read it, it turns out to be, on the whole, pro-Israeli, and supports the wall.
You never know what you might miss by closing your mind. -

With you two, I am suspiscious that you are trying to justify Peroutka's insane idea that foreign aid to Israel is illegal.

It seems that the source here has glossed over everything with a simplistic statement that is both misleading and anti-Israel. I would even question the factuality of his statement. I could not take his blog seriously.

I don't think its anti-Israel at all to say they are no different than anyone else. To say they took it by force of arms is no different than saying the US army took the west by force of arms - it is most certainly true, whether good or bad. One side's "freedom fighters" is another sides' "terrorists" - both use force of arms whatever their motivation. Here's a brief history of the pre-Statehood years. The "spin" may be anti-Israel but the facts are actual historical events:
In the 1940s, two Jewish underground organizations, the Irgun Zvai Leumi and the Stern gang, were responsible for a number of terrorist acts:
* The King David Hotel bombing on July 26, 1946, killing 91.
* The bombing of the British Embassy in Rome, also in 1946.
* Assassinated British minister Lord Moyne in Cairo in 1944 for his refusal to allow Jews to flee from the Holocaust into Palestine during World War II.
* Assassinated the UN mediator Count Bernadotte in September, 1948 for his allegedly pro-Arabic conduct during the cease-fire negotiations.
* Are claimed to be responsible for the massacres of hundreds of Arab villagers and the forced exile of thousands. In particular, on April 9th, 1948 a military operation at Deir Yassin.
* In 1947, killed two British hostages, sergeants who had been taken prisoner and later killed in response to British refusal to cancel the death sentence of two Jewish activists in Akko prison. Also, killed several suspected collaborators with the Haganah and the British mandate government.
* Attacked British military airfields and railways several times in 1946.
* Destroyed bridges over the Jordan River.
* Dozens of massacres before and during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. -

See, you are adding to what the blog said and trying to present a history from a particular point of view. I imagine that I am a much greater Anglophile than you--just see my favorite building (my thread called 30 St. Mary Axe was ignored) web page for 30 St. Mary Axe--but that is not important.
I just disagee with the premise and I think that the author is writing against Israel. -
That wasn't from the blog. And, like I said, the spin on those events and the way they are recorded here may appear anti-Israel but there is no denying the events occurred. The zionist organizations prior to statehood did indeed carry out a variety of bombings and assassinations. To deny it is to deny historical fact. And, to my thinking, bombings and assassinations are force of arms no matter how you try to spin it ;) .

Alright CMG, tell us how Israel began to occupy the land they live on today.
Like Joseph, everyone who disagrees with your position is painted as anti-Jewish. You seem to think that you alone understand history, so please explain how Israel won their independence from Britain? -

Why are y'all starting with England? Why not start with the return of the Jews from Egypt? The history of Israel is thousands of years old and the issue is much more complicated than the minor issue of England.
