Not a bad study though - it is forcing me to examine his doctrines and seek the scriptures he was referring to. Some are obvious - some I have to dig into, of course some are conjecture.

Hi folks,

Roger, if you can get near a theological library, check all the church history books. Each contains a brief write up on Patrick.

I know that the Trail of Blood people have a write up claiming Patrick was baptistic in his doctrine and have references...Landmark Baptists.

Cheers,

Jim

Thanks Jim,

I have seen that article - there is some help there, but he actually only wrote two things that we have availiable - his Confessions and a letter he wrote. I don't know Latin (Patrick's Latin was wretched anyway) so am going back to an older English translation to get as close to source as possible.

Thanks

Good morning to my tea room friends!

Been extremely busy - perhaps too busy - with my secular job.

Got to meet my new grandson last weekend - when Kelly and family was home for his ordination.

The picture we saw - made him look like a good sized baby. Put him in Pop Pop's hands - and 8 pounds 3 ounces looks minuscule!

Dan - the 5' 17" - 280 pound preacher-man

Sept 30th

I don't expect to be around much this coming week. Have two auntos over from England for a week visit, and expect to be showing them about.

Cheers,

Still here - getting ready for our little US trip and looking and praying about a second hand second car. Our van is great for church and collecting people at the airport, but it was way expensive to run. We are looking for a little 1 litre for getting about in.

Enjoy the trip?

Roger,

I hope you will be sucessful in your search for another car. We are very pleased with our new to us car.

It was lovely to be with our friends in Wales again. Rob was doing repair work on their mobile home. There will be more to do in the Spring. It is far too wet to do anymore now.

How is the paper coming on? I managed to get some reading done while I was away, but now I must really organise myself and get on with my dissertation and my module.

I hope Mary and the boys are well,

Blessings

Sheila

Hi Sheila, and welcome back. Afraid not much happening in this quarter..not may talkers. Glad you had good trips.

I think Roger and I have been the only talkers, except Watchman now and then.

Roger, my first church car was a Morris Minor. It was certainly easy on petrol, but not much room. I can't complain. It was free to me, and for my use whilst pastoring at that church. They didn't like me riding a motorbike.

Cheers,

Jim

Hi Jim,

How are you? It is lovely travelling and seeing old friends, but it is good to be home again.

Are your visitors still with you Jim? Have you been able to take them out and about much? I hope you have had a good time.

God Bless

Sheila

Good Morning Strangers!

I thought I would pop in here for a refreshing cup of tea instead of my usual morning cup of 'decaf'...

Pastor Bob and family will be here this evening, for the week-end. It will be wonderful to see them.

I have started home schooling Brent (10-year-old grandson). It takes up most of my morning.

Then of course, I deliver two paper routes, in the afternoon, and work at the school crossing twice a day. I stay busy (understatement)...

Glad to see everyone is doing fine,
§ue

Hello all,

Good to see Sue popping in - one day I will get you to try a cuppa real Irish tea ;) .

We are probably going to buy the second car - I took it back to the mechanic today and told him what I had found wrong with it and he thought it could be taken care of with little trouble. We have never had a small car before, but need something with the rising costs of petrol. Our van will be primariy a church vehicle now. Because of sexist insurance policies we are insuring it in Mary's name. She is having a great time talking about "her car" and "our van"
.

Take care all!

Thanks Roger! Would love a cup of Irish tea!

Good luck with the 'new car'. Brent and I are praying for a slightly larger car. I am driving a small Ford Escort and I love it, but it IS small and it is only a two-door. Makes delivering the papers much harder than if we had a four-door.

We have to put THREE round laundry baskets in the back seat and ONE in the front (on the floor) and they are all FULL of rolled papers!

A '97 model is very "new" for us! It is about the size of an Escort, this one has four doors, and a 3 cylinder, 1 litre engine - but is is supposed to get about 55-60 miles per gallon.

We prayed that we would be able to buy the car and pay the first years tax and insurance with our Irish tax refund and that looks like exactly what is going to happen, maybe I should have prayed for enough for lunch at MacDonalds as well!
