Roger: Do you have to pay taxes on cars every year?

We pay tax only when we purchase a car. We pay our insurance monthly. It is taken directly out of our checking account.

My car is a 1996. I don't mind 'trading down' if I can get a car better suited for our jobs (and have the money to buy it!)

You COULD drive on down to Lincoln while you are in Chicago! :D

Hello Sue and Roger and good afternoon from a bright and sunny Gloucester.
Roger, the car sounds ideal for your needs. I hope it will be very reliable for you.

Rob and I were in uni this morning. Rob had a lecture and the idea was that I would use the time to catch up on reading, but unfortunately I had to spend a good deal of time chasing up my registration which the computers don't seem to want to deal with.

Well, time for lunch here and then off to do Sainsburys. I will look in later,

God Bless

Just paid my van tax online 2 minutes ago - €152 ($187) for three months :( .

Fortunately - the car will cost that same amount for a year.

Insurance is a little cheaper if you pay it by the year upfront.

How close are you to Roscoe, IL Sue? We won't have a car, but we are in a Missions Conference there from the 24-27 along with Matt, Michelle, and Morgann.

I'm about 170 miles from Roscoe, Roger. It would be about an eight-hour drive round trip.

I wouldn't have time to drive up, visit, and drive back between my 'jobs'. :(

Now, if we could meet halfway - that would be GREAT! :D

Hi Sheila,

Our guest have been with us all week and we have been quite busy touring. They are well pleased and actually said they got to see more than they had anticipated. To-day they are in Ottawa. They wanted to take the bus tour there, and catch the plane this evening for home. So, they are on their own to-day.

Mary, daughter and granddaughter will see them again in June when they go over to London.

Cheers,

Jim

Hello Jim,

It sounds like your guests have had a good time and fitted a lot into their schedule. Sometimes there can be so many options it can be difficult to choose. I am sure their trip has been a memorable one.

I think I am at last registered at uni. I went thru' the online registration with no problem this time. Now to get on with the work. The module is proving really interesting. We will be going on a trip to Oxford in a few weeks, Rob can come too and I am sure it will be fascinating. We have a really great lecturer for this module.

Blessings

It wants to rain here in Cuba (New York - not the island south of Florida) today - but none so far.

Hope everyone is doing well! I've been so busy that I haven't had much time for BB lately! Last pay period (two weeks long) I worked 83.5 hours of overtime in addition to my regular 80 hours.

Have a good day!

Good Morning all.

The weather is brightening up here in Gloucester. Rob usually has a sunny birthday, so I am hoping it stays fine for him. We are out to lunch today, so I will look in later.

I hope you all have a good day,

Blessings

Sheila

Roger,

I hope you have happy and safe travelling in your "new to you" car.

Rob and I went to Bristol after my doctor's appointment today. Of course we came back with more books. LOL.

I am being referred to a memory clinic. Not quite sure what that will entail, but will soon find out I'm sure.

I hope everyone is having a good day,

God Bless

Sheila
