On the passing of Davey Jones...

When those who were prominent, and in the lime-light when we were young, begin to leave this life, it brings a sobering reality to each of us who remain. There is a day-a-comin' when each of us will need to make an accounting for this life, and for those who have their faith solidly anchored in Jesus, death no longer casts its ominous shadow nor does it carrying an eternal sting!!! :type:

Well said.

I don't remember when I realized that more and more folks younger than myself were leaving this life. Suspect it was when people, who graduated from school after I did, had obits in the local newspaper in increasing numbers. Maybe it was when I realized that I've lived longer than my parents and most of my aunts and uncles lived. Maybe the day I realized I'm the oldest living member on either side of my parents families.

There aren't many days left before the Lord calls me home.

Now, a prayer often said:

Thank you, Lord, for another day. Thank you for another day to do thy will as You lead and guide me this day.

And, at bedtime: Thank you Lord, for another day.
