I heard recently that something like 90% of all church members do NOT believe in the Rapture. I do not know if this was 90% of Baptists, or everyone that attends church (like Catholics, Church of Christ, etc.)
However, I started asking around and I was a bit surprised that many Baptists didn't seem to believe in the Rapture anymore either.
So, my question is ... do YOU believe in the Rapture?

Yes I do, I am largely Pre Mill, yet I admit that I have found some of the Post Mill arguments compelling at times.
-
I'm pre-Mil too. I've heard the arguments as well, but, they haven't changed my mind either.
I'm looking forward to our being Raptured away. I hope its soon, don't you?

Oh, I look forward to the Rapture. What a glorious day!!!

I can't speak for other religions, but as a baptist, if you truly beleive in the word of God, as it specifically states in the book of revelations, then you must believe the rapture will take place. And given the state that the world is in these days, I am led to think that it will be sooner rather than later. So believe in it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Jesus is going to come and get me soon.

Hey, Bubba Mickey - welcome to Baptist Board!
In my Bible, King James Version, is a book called "Reuelation".
It doesn't directly mention a rapture. Revelation 4:1 does contain the
rapture as a type. The King James Version (English Bible) does
not contain the word "rapture". However, the Latin Bible does
1Th 4:17 (KJV1611 Edition):
Then we which are aliue, and remaine, shalbe
caught vp together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the aire: and so shall
wee euer bee with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 (The Latin Vulgate):
deinde nos qui vivimus qui relinquimur simul
rapiemur cum illis in nubibus obviam Domino in aera
et sic semper cum Domino erimus
So the English "caught up" is equivalent to the Latin 'rapture'. -

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Anxiously awaiting that shout and trumpet blast!
As the old song says, "Goodbye world, goodbye!"

I don’t know, but I would hate to sprout wings like a butterfly and go flying off at the wrong time, maybe right into a bug zapper.

It all depends on what you mean by the word "rapture" (which isnt in the Bible anyway.)
Of course, any Christian must believe that Christ will come back to claim his own. Thats fundamental to Christianity. But whether there is a "secret calling away" as some teach, thats debatable. ;) -
You know, for 2,000 years Christians have been looking for the return of our precious Lord and Savior and from all the signs, it looks like WE are the generation that is going to be raptured. Talk about being super-blessed!
I can't wait. -
Here's a little something to bless your soul:
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thess 4:16-18 -

I can't wait. </font>[/QUOTE]Haven't people been saying that for 2000 yrs now?? Every generation feels that way. -

Whether the non-believers will hear the "shout", and/or the "trump", is debatable, but when people start disappearing all over the earth, IT SURE AIN'T GONNA BE A SECRET!
