The Churches decide that, not the denomination or association.

Actually the scriptures themselves determine that!

This is getting looney, but I will play.
Where does the Bible say give 11%?

It doesn't, but allows us to determine what we feel is appropriate!

    It does not! Exactly!

Does ending all sentences with "!" Have some special meaning to you? '!" Means nothing when you end every sentence with it.

    Huh?
You 'feel' the mandatory 11% is appropriate, yet you have no idea why?

There are Baptist distinctives. They cab put Baptist on the sign but it doesn't make them Baptist.

Compulsory giving 11% is not a Baptist distinctive.

Tithes were for the Jews and as far as I can see they were not monetary, but in the increase in produce.

    Yes from the land.

Although if it was a long way to Jerusalem the worshipers could exchange their goods for gold/silver and offer it at the alter.

IOW no, you haven't really given ALL.

I didn't even know we had any 'giving moderator' on here. As for being stingy, why are you bold with proclamations, then stingy with specifics about them?

The Jews had to support the priests and Levites, who were not all in Jerusalem. They were mingled throught the people.

What is given in secret is rewarded
Mat 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
Mat 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
I would think that you would know this

yes that was another option but sometimes priests were a rare commodity, certain folk enjoyed killing them.

I wonder if President Trump has surrendered and become a Baptist preacher. I get lots of nice mail from him all the time, but he is always asking for money. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and appreciate him greatly, but maybe he is confused now about who he is (a Baptist preacher or maybe he thinks I am his daddy) IMAG0546_1.jpg

Which hand knew what you were doing? I'm not asking that other hand, which didn't know (if you followed the instruction here).

And how has he rewarded you openly (which ain't secret)?

Indeed, I know it. What I still don't know is how you have given everything unless you have no home, vehicle, clothes, et al. Have you given everything and therefore have none? or have you given less than everything?

I am not saying that none do, but I have not come across any that do, certainly the bible based ones.

A friend told me of a church he once attended where the pastor was a dutch man who one sunday said God had told him not to preach till ten people had given him £250. Within a short time he had more than that and they only took these bribes by credit card, passing CC readers around to the doners.
