The Republican Search for Self Better Find Something Quickly
By John Bicknell, CQ Staff
While President Obama spends the next two years running the country, the Republican Party will take the time to figure out who it is.
Whichever one does a better job is likely to prosper in the 2010 mid-term elections.
If the Republicans are counting on Obama blunders and a continuation of hard economic times to ensure their return to power, they might be waiting for a long while.
It’s not that hard times might not continue, or that Obama won’t blunder.
They might, and he almost certainly will at some point.
But without a positive program for change — remember that word? — even if the GOP makes gains in the next election cycle, they won’t be sustainable over the long haul.
There is little debate about whether the Republican Party lost its way — it did.

Very interesting article. Several other paragraphs caught my eye. I will take the liberaty to post them here.

IMO the Democrats have used government money to create entitlement groups to buy votes for decades.
What has happened is that they have bought a large enough percentage of voters to have created a tipping point.
Since the government creates nothing and the entitlements are a transfer of wealth from the producers to the non-producers it is only a matter of time before the scraps that the government hands out won't be enough to keep the recipients on the reservation.
Eventually those who want more than what the government will hand out will decide to become more self reliant and the it will swing in the other direction. -
I hope that they do find their way back to something that has true conservative meaning. The other party has obviously decided to be anti-God on almost all counts. We need a major party that Christians can support without holding their nose.

Another way of saying that the working poor finally registered and voted. -

That's funny. It took about 6 years for most Bush fans, like Ken & myself, to give up on him. But the zero has his fan base spittin' fire before he even takes the oath.
