Who would be a good third party candidate?
There is no way I am going to vote for Obama or Clinton...
And to me, McCain is not too far from Clinton...
I am now not convinced I can vote for McCain..if he gets the nomination.
SOoooo I am looking for a good third party candidate. One that conservatives can back.
One day I have to stand and give an account to God for who I vote for, and I don't want to vote for the lesser of 3 evils... I want to throw my vote to a good man. Even if that man loses.. I have to stand by my convictions.
So, who can I vote for?
Are there others here that think the way I do?
Or am I a nutcase? (I can't beleive I am asking that on BB!!!)

I am with you TT but I do not see a third party candidate. Currently there are no conservative choices therefore no options to vote for.

Here is a link. There are articles about McCain and the two parties.

Will the Prohibition party be on the WV ballott?

Or you could help restart the Conservative Party of WV, which I (tried) to start back in 1994. http://www.cpnys.org/ The link is for the NY Party. Since we have a fusion ballott we often endorse the Republician Party candidates, but not always. This past November I ran for city council only on the Conservative Party line

ps this is not a joke -
The system is stacked against a third party candidate. The last one to win a major national election was Lincoln and look at the mess that resulted in.
The point should be that the people own both parties and it doesn't matter who wins. If a real reformer got in he will be shot just as JFK was. -
Tiny, here are the "offical" WV political parties :1_grouphug:

Bill, remember Lincoln won beacuse there were three Democrats running.:BangHead:
Now if all States had a Fusion ballott:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_fusion -
As the date of the Constitution Party National Convention (April 23-26 in Kansas City, Missouri) approaches, several prominent Americans have expressed an openness to considering the possibility of seeking the Constitution Party Presidential nomination. Among those are former United States Senator Bob Smith; former Alabama Chief Justice, Roy Moore; the 2004 Vice-Presidential Nominee of the Constitution Party, Chuck Baldwin; WorldNetDaily. com writer and author of the best selling "The Late, Great USA", Dr. Jerome Corsi; and former Ambassador to the United Nations, Alan Keyes. This is is not a closed list and it is possible that there may still be others who are considering the possibility of seeking the 2008 Constitution Party nomination.

There is greater chance of a new shooting war succeeding than a 3rd party candidate winning.

Dream candidates (or at least better than what we have now  ):
- Thomas Sowell, minus 5-10 years (a bit long in the tooth now)
- Steve Forbes
- Duncan Hunter
- Scott Adams (creator of "Dilbert")
- Jeff Sessions (Alabama senator)
- Peter Ueberroth (Coca-cola, US Olympic Committee, 1980's baseball commissioner)
