First cut Medicare by 400 BILLION DOLLARS
Then expand the number of people relying upon Medicare by lowering the age to qualify for the program.

And best of all - lowering the age from 65 to 62 will only cost an additional 5 BILLION a year.
What the heck - if there isn't enough money in the program as is - why not blow it out completely with a run on the already limited resources by bringing in even more people to draw on it?
Makes sense I guess to a Democrat - but it makes no sense to me.
This could only make sense to a Democrat

It's the beginning of rationed health care, and it's only going to get worse if they pass a health care bill. I saw a sign in the doctors office this morning that Medicaid will no longer pay for injections and vaccinations. And we're supose to want them to manage and pay for our health care when they are rationing what they do pay for already. There has been recent news in the past month about the beginning of rationed health care in preparation for a government run health care system, the latest victims are women and routine testing that save many lives.

Both my General Practitioner and my Gastronologist do not want government run health care. They are worried because they would have to find another profession.

It makes sense to democrats to not only cut 400 billion from medicare but to withhold the COLA from the seniors who paid into the SSA system all their lives because there was a "negative" Cost Of Living variance this last year (I wonder where that happened, it didn't happen to me).
On the other hand it makes sense to bailout a plethora of corporations with a googaplex of $$$ and give their CEO's billions in bonuses because the "cost of operating" for them was too high to make a profit and they were too big to fail.
I guess our senior sector is not too big to fail. Just build more hospices for them.

Medicare fully covers influenza and pneumoccocus vaccinations for adults and partially covers hep B. Link
The Vaccines for Children program run by the CDC fully funds childhood vaccinations through Medicare and Medicaid. -
This is what the Canadian writer who wrote of their socialized medicine said. He studied health care in nations with socialized medicine and said this is exactly what happens every time.

To compare the proposed health care plans with Canada and the United Kingdom is just wrong. They have a single payer system. Under the proposed plan, you can keep your same health insurance. You will have the choice of private insurance or the public option. The government is not "taking over" the health care system.

Of course, I don't agree with Medicaid and wish it didn't exist, but there's no reasons to propagate lies about a program just because I don't like it. -

What ever they are currently planning it is to take over the entire system even if incrementally. but good luck with your talking points. -

Bub you have no idea what is a lie. You do not have enough info to determine that in this case. You are a little to impressed with yourself. -
I always love it when you have no facts to back up your posts, so you resort to snide remarks. It just makes me tingle all over Rev. When you are acting as a Reverend do you constantly issue snide remarks to those you disagree with? I'd hate to be at business meetings at your church... -

You do not know what the facts are. You do not know what changes have been made nor do you know what prompted that doctor to put that in the window. But you are so arrogantly willing to lift up your own personal knowledge as somehow then end of all discussion on the matter. Fact is you do not know much about that situation but you are willing to believe yourself the end of the matter. Accusing a doctor of a lie of which you know nothing about. Get over yourself and settle down. -
It seems they don't train students to read and think critically in college anymore. -
As I understand it, Medicaid is different from state to state with some providing vaccinations and some not and that the rules are different for adults and children. So it is a difficult subject to discuss here without all of the information.
But getting back to the OP... does it make any sense to lower the age for Medicare to 62 from 65 ?
