Private messages between Governor’s Christie’s deputy chief of staff and two of his top executives at the Port Authority reveal a vindictive effort to create “traffic problems in Fort Lee” by shutting lanes to the George Washington Bridge and apparent pleasure at the resulting gridlock.
The messages are replete with references and insults to Fort Lee’s mayor — who had failed to endorse Christie for re-election — and they chronicle how he tried to reach Port Authority officials in a vain effort to eliminate the paralyzing gridlock that overwhelmed his town of 35,000, which sits in the shadow of the world’s busiest bridge.
Statement from Governor Christie
Governor Chris Christie on Wednesday issued the following statement:
“What I've seen today for the first time is unacceptable. I am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge. One thing is clear: this type of behavior is unacceptable and I will not tolerate it because the people of New Jersey deserve better. This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way, and people will be held responsible for their actions.”
Looks as if his Democrat friends have turned against Christie and are trying to sink his ship in order to help Hillary.
Actually, the Democrats may be helping the Tea Party!
Why would it sink Christie he did not do it. His chief did. Christie fired him and was willing to stand and take questions directly and be accountable for it. Obama should learn from him. As should Clinton
Old news, Curtis. Been on-air for three days. Check out FoxNews.com to see his response at news conference today. The idea this will "sink" Christie is unfounded, and your website link appears to be a liberal media outlet that would naturally slant against Christie. Click on their op-ed section and you'll see.
Actually, no, I won't check out FAUXNews, and I also don't care how long it's been on the air. It is news, and I am perfectly within bounds posting it in the news section.
Second, whatever the source, the info is correct. Also, It was linked to the article from Weaselzippers.us
Ace.mu.nu also covered it.
All anyone has to do is find his name CC'ed on any e-mail.
Only if they can prove he knew what was going on. He is still a RINO and unacceptable as a presidential candidate. Never curtailedteachers unions in NJ which is a giant drain to Jersey's economy. At best, he is an inept blowhard & at worst, a thug punk...but you gotta prove the 2nd. Give me Scott Walker because he produces.
It doesn't matter. The GOP is splintered and the left is adding to its numbers. The GOP could dig Reagan out the grave and prop him up on a stick and he'd too lose the 2016 Presidential election.
The GOP is just outnumbered. They don't have a viable candidate on the horizon who
excites the base while pulling the rest of the party together. And the party is filled with selfish individuals with no flexibility because if they can't get their way, then it's no way.
It doesn't matter who they put up in 2016. They will lose.
Laugh all you want. But had selfish Christians of their free will taken care of the poor as commanded by God, perhaps He wouldn't have had to put a man in office to make them do so?
I'm sure John McCain and Mitt Romney were laughing too when Jan 20 rolled around and someone else was being sworn in.
What self-respecting New Jerseyan can admire Christie now? He can't even cover-up a little scandal by underlings that happened months ago. Meanwhile his predecessor got away with stealing $2 billion dollars Sheesh!
Yeah, not like the consummate pro in the White House who can get a dozen scandals going at once and pretend they don't exist, and even better, get the media to pretend they don't exist.
As I said, Walker produces. Last year, Christie did wurlwind tours of many towns in New Jersey promicing everyone That his only ambition was to serve the people of NJ as governor.
Right, fat chance.
