    When you raise the bottom 20%, you elevate their level of income but they remain the bottom 20% regardless. And all you do is increase the tax burden on the upper 80% who have to pay for it. It's like the inventor of Daylight Savings Time. He cut the end off his blanket and sowed it on the other to make it longer, and immediately was struck with the thought that time works the same way.

    Her total lack of understanding reminded me of this book ...

    1) I would rather have someone else than Savage as a mentor

    2) I do not believe that liberalism is a mental illness. ---- Remember the Bible tells us to be liberal

    He's not my mentor. I just like the book title. I think it carries some degree of accuracy, and I'm saying that as an amateur political commentator, not a health care professional.

    Liberal spiritually, not politically. The Bible says very little about politics.

    Reagan used to drive the Democrats nuts with a quotation from FDR that said that welfare is a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit.
