>Now I don't think they should pay any higher rate % wise - but would I be wrong in saying, okay - if the limit was raised to 5 Million.
What the TP doesn't understand is it is the length of the food chain which causes public dissatisfaction, unhappiness, and revolution.
Say there was an economic system where there was no graduated tax of any kind but the richest person only grossed ten times minimum wage in his buying power. Would anyone be unhappy with that system? The guy who sweeps the bathrooms gets $10/hour and the guy who owns the company gets $100/hour?
The richest guy in the country can buy 10 times more toys than the janitor. Sounds "fair" to me. But if the richest guy can buy 10,000,000 times more toys. Is this "fair."
TP and BB doesn't seem to understand

That janitor has the potential of earning more if he desires. But could be he only wants to work his 40, leave the job at work, go home and enjoy his life. Wherein, the CEO often works much more than 40 hours - plus a good portion of his pay is in stock - so if the company fails - he looses.
I know there are always exceptions - that one that makes the others look bad - but many certainly earn their high paychecks. -

In addition, I am personally EXTREMELY happy that life is not fair, because I would deserve death as punishment for my sins. Thank God above that life (and eternity!) is NOT fair!
Some years ago, a co-worker quit her job because "she was not getting paid the same as" another co-worker, for doing the same job! What she neglected to see was that she, as the more-senior employee, actually was getting MORE than the other employee! Is that "fair"?
I am currently the senior delivery driver in the store I work at. I am actually making more as a delivery driver than either of the other drivers. (One has been with the company for 2 months, the other for less than 1 month, and I have almost 11 YEARS of experience). Is that "fair"?
billwald, I hope you will learn that the socialist idea that everyone should have the same (or closely similar) paycheck just doesn't work in the real world. People should be able to earn what they want to and can legally do, without government interference (or any other interference, IMHO)!
And again, I hope you see that the only One Who can do anything about "fairness" has done so! We just need to turn our lives over to Him. To Him be the glory!

Matt 20:2 - 13
One laborer worked 12 hours for one penny
One laborer worked 1 hour for one penny
Was that fair - they both agreed to the wage offered -

As I said . . . ten to one, 12 to one is fair. 100,000 to one is not fair.
Jesus forgot to mention the guy who worked one microsecond for one penny.
Was that fair - they both agreed to the wage offered
Hope you all will be happy when it is obvious to even the most ignorant Republican that we are a nation of serfs. -
If we are a nation of serfs, it is because we are too lazy to work extra.
I love the way you blame the republicans.
Makes me think of the ole saying
Be sure to work hard today
Millions on welfare are depending on you
isnt that the theme of the Democrats -
What is fair is that people are compensated according to what mutual minds can agree on and what the output of work appears to produce in profitable goods and services.
If someone offers skills and another is willing to pay $X per year/hour for this, who are YOU socialists to interfere and FORBID such an exchange to take place!
If we were to force people to accept what some crusty people believe for "fairness" (who themselves are unwilling to put in the effort to work hard and stick their necks into risky ventures), innovations and standard of living increases would be severely stifled. The poor would be much worse off! -
