RSR,
Did you read the initial post?
This isn't about worshipping Mary.
This is about the CLAIM made by the CC that Mary is the spouse of the Holy Spirit.
That isn't idolatry.
It's adultery.
Do you know the answers to the first post?

What I do not understand is why people on this
board start threads with the wholee intention
being to inflame? Naive me, I believed that this
thread was started in order to ask a question, but
I have come to believe it merely inflamatory.
Why? -
Abie,
You aren't niave to think that, you are right.
I asked in all sincerety to get an honest answer from the Catholics.
When I asked about it in the other thread, in inflamed Thessalonian, so I started this one, so that the Catholics with a little more self control could answer the question.
Have you not ever wondered why they think that Mary is the spouse of the Holy Spirit?
If it is inflamatory to ask questions, and disagree with the answers, then we are all mightily guilty of that.
Wouldn't you agree?
God Bless -
There are those on this and other boards who ask
questions of others with the sole purpose of
inflaming. They already know the answers, but
they just want to cause a ruckus.
I baited one person one time, and I later admitted
to Carson what I had done. Yes, I baited him, but
not to inflame him; it was to get him to lay his
answers out in the thread where he and I were
discussing the ill treatment of Jews by Catholics.
I have to say that I do not purposely incite
arguments and am more likely to avoid subjects
in order to just keep peace and to not inflame.
Initially, I believed your question to be an innocent
one -- one in which you simply wanted
information. As the thread continued, I changed
my mind and dropped out of the discussion. I
later returned because of the many acid posts by
many people that I had seen in going by the thread.
If I misjudged you because of the direction the
thread has taken, I am deeply sorry.

Abie,
That's quite alright.
It wasn't a baited question. I really do what to know why they think that.
This thead was derailed for the sake of those who don't want to explain their beliefs, and the topic was first changed to 'the meaning of Adelphos' and then it just went haywire.
I tried to get it back on track several times, but then they changed the subject to the Whore of Babylon, again for the sake of not having to discuss the topic at hand.
I have had ONE answer that is legit, and it was from Carson. He actually recorded a class at his college for me to listen to, about Mary and the spouse issue. So I am going to listen to it, and I will post a commentary on what it said for the benifit of those who may have the same questions I do.
God Bless -
8o) Thank you.

Ok, folks, put your seat belts on and make sure your seat is in the FULL upright position.
This one is going to blow your socks off.
I listened to Carson's professor at the Fransican University in Stubenville Ohio.
Here is a brief commentary on what he said about Mary being the Spouse of the Holy Spirit. These are DIRECT quotes of what he ACTUALLY said.
"Is Mary, the spouse of the Holy Spirit? Yes in one sense, no in another sense. It is 'metaphorical' not metaphysical. In the Marian dictionary it says Mary is the daughter of the Father and the spouse of the Father, the Mother of Jesus, and the mystical spouse of Jesus. She is the TEMPLE of the Trinity, and the temple of the Holy Spirit, and the spouse of the Holy Spirit. Spouse of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit EQUALLY. Tradition says all 3, we don't have Father, Son and Holy Bachelor. Some have reduced it to just Spouse of the Holy Spirit. St Thomas of Aquianas saw marriage as the closest friendship relationship. But the relationship between Mary and the Trinity is CLOSER than marriage, it is much more intimate. What the Holy Spirit does in ETERNITY, He impowers Mary to do in History. What the Spirit does with the divine nature uniting the Father and the Son, He impowers Mary to do with Jesus' human nature, just as the Spirit bears the Son's Love back to the Father, He impowers Mary to bear Jesus' humanity back to the Father."
I am going to have to say that this is PURE fiction.
None of that is found ANYWHERE in the Bible.
So now, that we see the BIG picture, not only have they taken Mary to the level of adultery by placing her in a position of MARRIAGE to GOD, but now she is also in an incestuous relationship with her own Son.
God Bless -
Did anyone read that?
-
I did!
Neal -
So what did you think?
God Bless -
That's just plain nasty, I had to go wash my hands before I could post
Murph -

How do you think I feel, I actually LISTENED to it.
God Bless
