someone to read something that has
verses added?
Rev 22:18 (Geneva Bible):
For I protest vnto euery man that heareth
the words of the prophecie of this booke,
If any man shall adde vnto these things,
God shall adde vnto him the plagues,
that are written in this booke: -
Why would the Holy Spirit direct someone to read something that has verses added.
I am a strong KJV preferred - it is all I use - but lets be sure our logic goes both ways. -
My questions were not part of the OP, and the thread was closed because it went off topic and due to personal attacks.
My questions are not personal attacks, they are for a specific purpose, and the moderator who closed that thread obviously saw the need for these questions, as he is participating in this thread, asking nearly identical questions as I am.
I was not attempting to usurp authority, merely trying to get back to the point. -
I have presented Standingfirm with an example of an addition on the part of the KJV.
I ask that before this thread be closed, he be asked to answer. Is Revelation 17:8 an addition to the Word of God, or not, and why? -

I personally think all MV" are a fry short of Happy meal

William,
Do you have anything meaningful to add? If not, would you please keep the nonsense in other threads? There are serious questions here, that need serious answers. If you wish to participate, bring something of meaning to the table. If not, have some respect, and just stay away.
Is that fair to ask, C4K? -

All posters are free to post as long as they abide by the rules.
william is free to hold and express his views, though the above post comes very close to attacking the word of God in other translations. -
I have been led to use multiple versions by the Holy Spirit. My 'feeling' is as valid as YOUR feeling. -
Linda 64:It is interesting that YOU can spend most of your time kicking people around on these threads without having your posts edited out. All you have done is attack people because YOU don't agree with those who defend the KJV. How's that answer? It probably won't be accepted because you are dead against the KJV defenders.
What I am dead against is the false KJVO MYTH. If anyone really checks it out & considers that it has NO SCRIPTURAL SUPPORT whatsoever, then they don't keep trying to support that myth. I am not against the KJV nor against being KJVO for the proper reasons. But dissing someone's choice of Bible version(s) for the sole reason that "it aint da KJV" is WRONG. -

The typo in Erasmus's text of Revelation is well known and often referenced but is, in my opinion, a tempest in a teapot.
The TR reads "and yet is" (kaiper estin) but all the Greek manuscripts, including 1r which Erasmus followed for his TR, reads "and is at hand" (kai paresti).
But what is the difference between "yet is" and "is at hand?" They mean the same thing! -
C4K,
That is my position. When they come in and just make blanket baseless comments, meaning nothing, then the thread is destined to go nowhere.
He is free to hold a view, but the above post was not expressing a "view", it was simply an attempt to derail a thread by ignoring all ocntext and trying to change the subject.
I ask again, William, if you are gonna post in THIS THREAD, then bring something meaningful to it. If not, feel free to derail other threads with nonsense.
Standingfirm, do you have an answer? You have a question pending from me, and another from C4K. If you need time for research, then so be it. I am just wondering if you PLAN to answer. -
