Unemployment rate rises to 9.8% as employers cut more jobs than expected
A net 263,000 jobs were eliminated in September, pushing the jobless rate to a 26-year high. The rate of unemployment plus underemployment -- representing workers whose hours were cut back -- is 17%.

It's my $.02 that the economy would be in a much more noticeable recovery had the federal government left it alone and not engaged in bailout programs.

Comes of having a stimulus plan that was full of pork instead of stimulus.

Why is it that no one is making a bigger deal about Obama the Wise's claims of where the unemployment rate would be if we did not do the bailout....and the rate if we did...
Of course, the rate is much higher than Obama the Wonderful said it would...
