We found out today(Tuesday 3/26) she has breast cancer. The lump was 2.5 CM by 2.0 CM. We are waiting on her hormone receptor test to come back. They expect it back by Thursday or Friday.
Ideally, they want...
ER+
PR+
HER2-
But if its something else, they said its not the end of the world. Its just that is the most common type.
They drew blood to send off for some 63 or 67 panel something or other...my head was spinning and can't remember what it was...and they are also testing for the BRACA-1 gene, that makes women ~90% chance for breast cancer. Angelina Jolie had a double mastectomy after she found out she had that gene. Her mother died from breast cancer. If Tracy has that gene, she's looking at a double mastectomy. Regardless, I want her alive, one breast, two or none.
Keep us in your prayers, as we don't know what lays ahead of us, but we know that God will work this out according to His plan. I told her today its time for her to start looking up.

Praying. My cousin just went through this last year and my mother-in-law has gone through this as well.

Yes, the survival rate for this is real good. They said there was no evidence of it having spread outside her left breast, but they are going to do an MRI, and other tests before surgery.

Those genes...I know the feeling. Talking to a doc soon who wants to remove 1/4 of my colon due to bad genes.
But, having to make these choices is better than not knowing, I reckon.
Your family is in my prayers, brother.

Brother, praying for wisdom from the doc and also you. May His hands be on you through this ordeal.
